guys, i finally get my turbo charged j-spec gsr swap running right (or so i thought), then the next morning after driving it around all night, it wont start. itll turn over all day long, but nothing other than that. there is a strong smell of fuel when trying too. whats up guys? any ideas on what to look at?

well you can by a tester or you can do it the hard way stick a screw driver in it and have someone eles turn it over wile its being held clost to a metal ground, or just hod it and if it knocks the hell out of you its working lol

lmao ahhvtec the good ol fashion hold it and get shocked routine. oh how i have felt that pain. check for spark like he said check fuel pressure and check ur spark plugs check if they smell like alot of fuel. if they are take out all ur spark plugs and blow air into the cylinders with an air gun. u might have flooded ur engine while cranking over now it wont start period. if u have no access to one just take out ur sprak plugs and let it air out for a while.

just like they stated ^^^^ check spark, make sure you can hear your fuel pump turn on. Im sure its something real simple. If you are getting spark , and hear the pump turning on, but no start still. check if fuel is getting to the fuel rail. I had my injector screen get clogged before. Spent a whole day tracking the problem down to the damn injector screens. something so small like that, can kick your ass trying to find it. lol

^^^ I'm with all of them. Check your spark plugs, wires, cap and distributor.

and make sure your fuel pump is at least priming.

You need 3 things. Fuel, air, and spark.

(technically four, compression) so do a compression check too!

Your timing could be off and it'd still run, horribly, but it'd run. You need compression to have ignition.

ok. lets get one thing straight. i am not a complete dumbass. building a 12 second car from the ground up is not a job for a dumbass. lets not to mention the 13 second TT 300z or the 9 second all motor 77 camaro ive built. i didnt come here for the usual check ur fuel pump and let the cylinders dry out nonsense. thats stuff for a monkey. and when i said i didnt know how to check for spark, that was without getting shocked. i was looking for some serious insight. maybe i came to the wrong place?

you done all that and you dont know how to check for spark without getting shocked,, well i call B.S

wow, You built all those cars, and you have to come to a forum to figure out whats wrong with your car. for more help go to getaclue.com

Gimme a break noob... wtf do you think this forum is for?

Go to www.beadickhead.com if you're going to act like that.

OK here it is.
Take an old spark plug, pull and plug wire of 1 plug and insert old spark plug into plug wire. The set plug don on a metal object, that is grounded in the engine bay. Turn over the car and watch for a spark
