soo i wannaa whole lot about turbo turbo my d16. i dont know a whole lot about turbos. i know how they work but i need to know what is needed to run a reliable kit. i found kit on ebay for like 600 dollars it comes with the manifold turbo waste gate, intercooler and piping and also the bov. now from what i have gathered i would also need injectors, maybe a fuel pump, and an apexi vafc, and also a boost controller, then it would probly be a good idea to get gauges. does any body know if there is anything alse i would have to have. or if there is anything iv said that i wouldnt need. thanks later

stay away from ebay on turbo kits just spend around 1200 bucks for a good name brand one

well im a fan of turbonetics but there kinda high so with your price in mind i would get a greddy kit

well garrett is the best you can get that a + but i didnt see a intercooler and pipes for it i would contac them and ask the what you just asked me + ask about a intercooler

i was lookin around and found a supercharger for around 1700i tnink it comes with everything needed to install. how much power would i be able to put out on about 7-8 psi for the price what would be better

i would go with the turbo because you can upgrade it easy and its free hp were the supercharger isnt, meaning it takes away power to make power by using belts, were the turbo dosent

don't waste your time with a t20 or t25. those are for insights.

build up a junk yard kit. get a log mani and a 14b or something like that from a talon. nice and cheap.

my turbo set up would have cost around 1500. with a log and all ac compatible dt and dp. im waxing redlines from a roll im guessing high 12's stock y8.

Another option is to get a cast manifold. I have been using one I bought off of ebay and I have not had any issues or problems with it. Depending on the turbo get an oil restrictor for your oil line. Stay away from XS power headers....
I ended up sourcing all my parts from ebay for my build and it turned out great. Don't forget bigger injectors of at least 440cc's and learn turboedit for your programming if you want to tune it yourself.

i was lookin at this kit on tuner toys would i need anything else with it and would it be anygoodhttp Tuner Toys Turbo Specialties "Superior" Turbo Kits For D16 Engines

There are two kits that we offer for the mighty D owners.

The less expensive (~$1300) one is non-intercooled, and uses an FMU. ALthough we know that a non-intercooled FMU based system is not the absolute best performer for a turbo kit. This kit is a great first time turbo kit. Everything is included, and it's a complete bolt-on affair, no fabrication required.

The second and more expensive ($2500) kit is also a complete bolt on system, no fabrication required. It is intercooled, and comes with a complete additional injector system. It even has a programmable fuel controller for the injectors. It's also a great system for the first timers, it's just more expensive.

Anyway, not trying to whore out the thread too much, just thought I would post up a little more information about the product you mentioned.

Thanks from Craig

you can buy a greddy kit for 1200 dollars, all you would need is a front mount .which you can ebay it for around 180 shipped
but that also depends on what year your car is.
if it is a 96 and up put a wiring harness conversion on it
just putting it out there

14b is a t25. The Big16G is a decent compromise between low end response and top end power. It wont choke out before redline but it doesnt have that insane pull up top like a t3/t4. If you're looking at an s/c, the 16g will have s/c like response with much better top end. Turbo > S/C :)
