I have been driving with no 3rd gear for about 6 months so I bit the bullet.

wow, that was a bite in the ass. then again, you know it's good for 100k and probably comes with a limited warranty. if you buy one online its a crapshoot if it is working or even legit.
 
Yeah its a usdm itr tranny. I got it on ebay from acura of las vegas. im very excited since i have never had a 3rd gear in my ls vtec setup plus the gearing should be awesome compared to my gsr tranny. i plan to keep driving my hatch as long as possible so i figured it was a wise investment. i get to start doing mini prixs again in gainesville and finally go to sebring!

so now i have an itr crankshaft pulley, 00 itr cams, itr flywheel and an itr tranny. next will be a jdm itr header but not until i recoupe from this purchase.

while i have the chance what gear oil should i run in this? i picked up some gm syncromesh without the friction mod but not sure if i should just run some honda mtf. i have heard so many diff opinions on this i thought i would get the hs opinion.
 
Most everybody you'll hear from will probably suggest Honda's MTF.
But I'm sure theres something out there just as good... maybe better (for race apps.?)
 
Redline Shockproof? I've heard of a lot of Honda Challenge and SE-R cup guys running it. I'd say Honda MTF with some friction modifier.
