My b16 that is swapped into my crx still runs very rich, fuel is down at 40psi at idle, black smoke still pours out at idle, tried adjusting timing, helped a little bit, still lots of black smoke, spark plugs are completely black from all of the fuel, new plugs (were new now all black), plug wires, dist. cap, rotor, i dont know what else to try on this, i need to get this fixed and running correctly.
Thanks

I've heared of people having problems with their injectors firing all the time. Not certain what fixes it though.

Yet another post that isn't helpful at all...

New injectors? Need this info, burns gas like it's it's job, i get like 90 miles to 7 gal. Of 93 octane.

Also all i smell when i'm stopped at a light or something is gas.

What kind of injectors are you running? stock/aftermarket, peak and hold or saturated, etc...
What ECU are you running?
Wiring harness? Resistor box?

Are you throwing any codes?

No codes, rywire engine harness, dx to b16, pw0 ecu, as far as i know stock injectors, swap purchased from hmo. And yes i have a resistor box from rywire.

whut type of fuel pressure regulator are you running... my buddy had similar problems with his aem, for some reason and when he switched to a b&m it fixed it. try cleaning you're injectors too

Well, can't fix this yet, my tranny casing is cracked, found that out today, has been leaking for about a week, how do i clean my injectors?

get a new set, they're a dime a dozen. I couldn't see paying more than 30 bucks for a set. It will cost more to have them cleaned properly.

The car ran worse before i put on the aem fpr.

And where can i find some injectors?

before you go tossin your injectors for new ones, try a little more diagnostic work. start the engine, and with it running, take a long flathead screwdriver and put the tip on the metal casing of each injector. listen for any erratic noises coming from any of them. they should all make a constant tap-tap-tap, increasing with higher rpms. if any are sticking, this will tell you right away which one. if they all sound good, then keep checkin elsewhere. good luck

i cant figure this out.

i swaped a b16a in to my 89 civic hatch. and i did everything to it. i replaced o2 sensors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor, ground wires, battery wires, a whole tune up, for some reason its running really rich that it wont let me pass emmissions so if you have any suggestions it would help me out alot. i spent $4,000 dollars on this swap and it wont pass emmissions. please help.
