well as you can tell am i new to the forum and i was thinking of getting a new car soon which is a dd but is able to go fast when i want to. i was planning to buy an integra and i wasnt sure which model was the best. i was looking in the 95-98 range and i dont know if i should get the LS or GSR or whatever else there is. i heard that the LS is potentially faster but the GSR is faster then it as is. well thanks guys.
 
If you dont want to tear your ls apart to strap on a vtec head and everything that goes along with it shoot for the gsr. Stock is about 180hp and 130lbs of torque I think.
 
Or you can do that, if available. If you have the chance to get an itr go for it.

It's a misconception that the longer gears are better for a turbo not true.
But the LS does have lower compression but with some tuning you can make
the GSR motor with a turbo work NO PROBLEM.

well car guys are like doctors everybody has there on opinion
 
lower compression and the stock sleeves can handle more boost i wouldn't but turbo on a stock gsr cause chances are the first time you get on it it's gonna blow ls/vtec turbo thats a good setup but a fully built gsr would be better
 
why is the ls model the best for me? i was just wondering. thanks for the responses.

Ls is the strongest stock B18 block in my opinion, and the low compression takes kindly to forced induction.

where do u get this?? its hard enough keeping traction with an all motor car that has short gears. properly sized turbos shooting for max hp dont make power until 4k or so. so if you get from 4 k to redline in 4 secs you are only in your max hp for that short period of time. with longer gears you are able to stay in your peak power for a longer period of time thus making the car faster.

B is your engine code and the number stands for your displacement.
 
b18 is your engine code or block code b16a would be a honda doch vtec motor or an si motor a b18c would be a gsr motor b18b is a ls block you get the picture now

18= displacement is actually 1.798 or something like that.
B= identifies which motor for instance B=Ls and C=Gsr

And any number after these three id's its a USDM make.
B18C5=USDM
B18C=JDM
