No no, im not in trouble or anything ^_^ I was looking through the classifieds and found that Progressive needs claim adjusters. I watched the progressive video "day in the life of a claims adjuster" and well... its cheesey becuase its a corporate video.

i was just wondering if anyone has/does or knows someone who works as one and what your/their experience is like. Even if you just work at an insurance company, you know any of the adjusters or ever do one?

Thanks. :D

my buddy matt is one for Allstate.

basically goes around and makes estimates on the cars....

his experience, he did body work in a body shop for about 3 years prior to this.

honestly, i don't think you're qualified.

well, if you like to travel and deal with pissed off people who just had their cars crashed on the phone all day, i guess its a good job :p

either, you'll be training others, or you'll be an 'apprentice' aka bitch who follows around.

I'm envisioning $9 an hour. And honestly there is way too much money lurking in Vermont to play the game with those cards.

I'm an Independant Insurance Agent

Claims Adjusting is a great was to get your feet wet in my industry. If you need a career path that's a good place to start.

Give it about 5 years and then go work for Allied as a Marketing Assoc (my friend did exactly that). That's where it gets fun. Company car/gas card, travel a bunch. Goodtimes :)

5 years is an eternity for me. I couldn't imagine doing anything for 5 years straight.

Except apparently smoking.

:werd:

the only job i held longer than 5 years was 6... and that was seasonal while i was home from college for the summer/through highschool

Now we play the waiting game... Hopefully one of the 4 positions i applied for will get back to me..
