Im having trouble deciding what motor i should get, either a 1st gen B16 or a Browntop ZC... see, with the B16, its way more expensive but i can get more power, and with the ZC its cheaperbut better torque, but there are so hard to find, also does anyone know a place i can get quotes on a browntop???

oooo yes hmotorsonline, thats where i am planning on getting my motor complete changeover with the mounts linkage and hubs, for a good price i might add, butthe ZC sounds so good too... i just need a bunch of opinions, i figured this would be the best way, cause everyone i talk to just says, "it's up to you man." lol anyways, i need some opinions :)

actually, changed the mind, a tech at my work has a b20 block and a b16 head, so im doin the frankenstein :D

lame
Go LS all the way, i would never go back to the under torqued b16. I love my all motor LS it give me a chubby every time i punch the gas haha

the b20 has more tork over all b series motors beside the type r and the shitty prelude b series.

Well, the LS obviously has way more torque than a B16, but im pretty sure that when you put the two together, it gives you the torque of the b20 and the top end of a B16, of course i will be swapping the main and rod bolts to high revving bolts, and changing the head studs.. but thats just what i have been told, not %100 sure if thats true though

If your looking for a semi fun daily driver for cheap, zc. Otherwise LS/VTEC all the way.... Once I find a nice LS block next summer... But the B16a isn't all that bad even down low in an EF.

yeh my car is only 1800 pounds, so torque isnt really an issue for me, i tshould just get up and go, especially with an ls/vtec :)

I just say from an ease of installation point of view. THe Ls literally drops right in, and plugs right in. No real guess work, and very little down time. Why re invent the wheel if you can accomplish the same goal simply.

yeh you do have a point, but i do need to get the mounts and harness and shit for the ls swap anyway, and how often do you see a b20/vtec in an 86 CRX, HAHAHA fuckin sweet!!!!! :D

edit: i see by your screen name, your rex is an 86. Correct? Im making my assumptions based off my second gen crx. I dont know about the complexity of the 1st gens.. My bad for getting confused on it.

I still like my LS, too bad you dont live in CA id let you go for a spin and see for yourself.... Yeah your right go B20 Vtec, tho in answering your question
"how often do you see a b20/vtec in an 86 CRX" there may be a reason for that..... Honestly go with what you want, money is important but not as important as having something the exact way you want it.

also no matter what gen your crx is it will need b series mounts, and all b series will drop in the same

if you dont wanna blow an ass ton of cash on mounts, try the place racing mounts, i have them in my crx and they are great.. BUT they are a very solid mount so there is vibration.. then again who cares about vibration in a 1800 pound rocket car?? NOT ME

yeh i actually checked place racing for mounts and im pretty sure the only place i could find that had mounts for my car was hasport, which kinda sux cause they are 600$, i wish i could check out your car, i wanna see what its like,

but yeh my car is an 86, in good shape too, just needs a paint job, no rust though, pretty rare for New England...

if you guys know of any other places i can find mounts that would help, ive been searching google and shit and i cant find anything. also on forums and stuff, maybe im just looking in the wrong places??
