Hey all iam a new member here. K this is what i need help with, i have a 2000 civic si and i am trying to put a 1990 Gsr A1 Ls vtec in to it.

This is how the engine is built. I got a

1990 block
99 si head
scunk 2 headers
H22 injecters
b17 tranny

so the problem is the wireing is different from the my civic si.

if any one done this kind of swap before, what do i need to do to get the car up and running.

Any little help would be great.^_^

What harness are you running.

Getting that tranny to work is going to be a bitch because it is cable and your car is hydraulic. I would go with a diffrent transmission for sure.

as long as your useing the 99 si head all you have to do is drop it in and plug it up, and just for a note there was no 90 modle gsr they didnt come out untill 92:D

well iam not sure what kind of wire harness i am useing but it dos not hook up to my Si wireing. And what kind or tranny do you prefer?

The shell what stripped and the engine was missing and all the wireing

no i didnt get it for free it cost me 1500.

By the way can any one tell me what tranny will fit my b18A1

no i dont get if for free i paid 1500 for it.

by the way can any one tell me what tranny will work with my engine.

Any 94-2000 b16 or b18 transmission will work in your car. Get a stock 1999 or 2000 Civic Si or Ex harness off ebay, and you should be good if you are using a 2000 Si head like you say.

Any B-series hydraulic tranny.

And then get a wiring harness that is the same make and model of your head.

K thanks alot every one ill get back to say how it went... :) :) :)  :) :)

u will have to use your master cylinder to push the cable clutch lever
its a pretty ok conversion

The conversion sucks ass, I used it for about 1 year on my civic/ys1 tranny, the position of the slave cyl on the tranny with the kit installed makes it so that water gets trapped in the bore of the cylinder causing pre-mature failure, in 1 year I went through 2 brand new slave cylinders plus the original one.
I would only recommend this if you arent gong to drive the car in the rain or on wet roads, or if you really can't find a hydro tranny and all you have is a cable.
Its not worth it to have to put in a new slave cyl every 4 months.
