Hi everyone......been hang out for awhile enjoyin the threads and welcomed advice. Thanks to everyone for the information.

I'm wanting to purchase an B16A DOHC swap for my 92 Civic SI been looking at Street Imports. Has anyone had experience with this company.

There website offers new axles, engine mounts, headers and half shaft with there engines.

Thanks for your response........

One of my friends bought a B16A1 swap from them for his 1993 civic dx. And he wasnt disappointed, we droped it in and wired it all up it ran fine, no smoke no obvious probs. But we didnt know the exact mileage on it.

By all means go with them, but make sure you do your research on other sites for better priceing.

On another forum I asked the same question. Someone sent me pictures of an engine sent by Street imports. It arrived tied using yellow rope to a wood pallet and the engine computer shrink wrap to the block. That did not seem right. Are engines suppose to be sent crated, or is this the normal way to send these engines.

Thank you for the responses, you guys are great !

How else do you ship it...............with a cardboard box and scotch tape with shipping peanuts.
Hahahahaha

I here ya........by the looks of it,,,it might as well have been a cardboard box and leftover holiday wrapping tape...ha ha.

Perhaps others can chime in....how was your engines packaged, for lack of a better description. That's alot of money for it to come so exposed. Just wondering if this mode of packaging an engine is how others received theirs. Thanks again.....

I take it you don't know what sarcasm is

JHOT in Georgia seems to be a decent company.

My brother and I have each gotten a swap from them. The engine was very clean, no leaks/seeping anywhere, everything was plugged/taped up.

Mine also came with so much more than I expected (it was a 94 Toyota Levin swap for my old Corolla).

what I thought was coming:
Engine
Trans
ECU
Harness
Axles

the extras:
the harness was not only complete, the underhood junction and fuse blocks were there along with pigtails on the backsides
coil pack & igniter
stock airbox with pipeing and AFM
all mounts (both engine and body sides)
in tank fuel pump
AC lines uncut
Shifter box with shifter and shift cables uncut

I was pretty impressed...the tranny even came with an LSD

I take it you don't know what sarcasm is

I do now.....

Sarcasm

1. a taunting or caustic remark, generally ironic.

2. the making of such remarks.

With all the snow in Albuquerque, have they open the school or run the school buses out to ya !

Oh by the way, do you have anything to add to the post reqarding its content?

Content

1. What is in a container. b) What is dealt with in a book . speech ect...

2. substance or meaning

3. amount contained

As for the school'in little man.......no charge !

Have a great sarcasm kinda day home from school.

Hosmer,

By the pictures I seen, it looks like they cut all the hoses. He asked the lead tech at StreetImports if they could not cut the hoses, he was promised it would come uncut. Seems like he ran smack into a " savy salesman " .

Everyones advice is much appreciated, accept the Albuquerque guy. Just kidding !

Thanks for the replies..........8sm
