hey, so im going to be doing a clutch for my friends 1994 civic. Ive done a few clutches before, i was just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice that may make it go easier. Ive never done a honda clutch, let alone in my driveway. :) Should I pull the whole motor/tranny or just pull the trans? Thanks for any advice.

Drain the tranny fluid! otherwise itll make a really big mess to work in.
Make sure you put genuine Honda manual tranny fluid back in the tranny, HONDA'S DO NOT TAKE GEAR OIL!
pull just the trans, right out the bottom of the car, other than just the main disassembly, the only real hard part is putting the tranny back into the car, sometimes it can be a pain to get it lined up while holding it from under the car. Just make sure you use your alignment tool.
if you are fairly mechanically inclined you should have it done in a few hours, if you are really good you can get it done in an hour or so.

awesome, thanks dude. I would say im pretty mechanicaly inclined, im hoping to have it done in an afternoon.

Well I guess bieng mechanicaly inclined doesnt mean your smart enough to get a manual.

Helms FTW!!!

haynes is as good as any, they don't go into really in depth stuff on some things in haynes tho

haynes or chilton Ive pulled mine 3 times (never in an hour though) and the only problem you might have excluding broken bolts and such depending on what kind of shape the car is in is like welfare said would be lining it up to go back in the last time I did mine it was a bitch the other 2 times it went right in and the shift linkage on one of the bars on the tran side theres a pin its a bitch to get out so what I did was just unbolt it from the shifter and leave it connected to the trans. you should be able to get it done in a afternoon though good luck

yeah, i just did a b16 swap, so Im pretty familiar with whats going on, i just know sometimes there are things that only experience can disclose. Thanks for the tips guys!
