hey guys

Recently i noticed, on my 96 civic, that there is a whine comming from the timing belt area, but only after i rev the engine or when the RPMs drop after reving

is this normal, or is my timing belt or something else going?

usually when you hear a whining sound it is the tranny but it could be something different in your case. have you messed with anythign on that side of the motor recently? any of the belts too tight?

Check your altenator pulley alignment
And then lube your belt
See if any of this works.

Ok your not going to believe me but trust me!!!

Take a bar of soap (yes regular hand soap) and hold it to both outside edges of the belt while its spinning just enough to evenly cover the edges...........be carefull.

Hopefully it will fix the noise?

is there a specific type of lube to use?

thanks

Or you can go to AutoZone and buy the little package of belt desqueeler stuff at the counter for $.99. :)
Why spend .99 cents, when you can do it for free with soap. Then you could go to McDonalds dollar menu and get a burger.
LOL

Dollar Menu...........FTW!
