Coilovers for a CRX which is better

Im looking at The skunk2 full coilovers or the tein basics for my 91 crx
Does anyone know why one would be better than the other??
they are both about the same price.
heres how im comparing.

Tein- known to be a great setup
skunk2-- good company but relativly new to the full coilover game

skunk2- comes with top mount
tein------nope

Skunk2- lowers to 4 inchs
tein------lowers to 4 inchs

skunk2--- finish is polished, might be easier to keep nice
tein--------green power coat looks like ass after a while

price: about the same

does anyone have a personal experiance with either of these to help me make up my mind..
right now, im assuming they are about the same and that my only real decision is if i want polished shocks or green ones or the top mount or not.
what does the top mount change??

please help me out guys, im trying to make a decision by the end of the weekend

i personaly wouldnt get any of them. have you looked at geting some konis and maby some ground control springs in the springrate you want with the drop that you are looking for if you are dead set on true coilovers i would get the teins for performance and the skunk2s for looks
 
i have a koni/ eibach sportline setup on my civic, and im not impressed with it, it offers only moderate performance in my opinion, maybe im asking alot of it. Plus the koni with GC's is like 500 bucks at least and thats only 100 or so short of a full coilover. The onyl reason i wanted the full coilovers was they were designed to work together at any height level
 
I would go with the Tein Basics over the Skunk2 coilovers.
 
whats the point of getting the top mount? the skunk 2's come with it, but its not adjustable for camber so im not seeing the point of it. I think im leaning to the teins just because i know they will perform
 
Sometimes an aftermarket top mount will be stiffer or be solid. Tein's pillowball mounts are ball joints- harsher ride, but much more responsive. The Basics don't come with them.
 
alright that tears it, im putting the teins on it.. should eat up some tasty corners with those on
 
ive never heard of those before. Id consider them if they were cheaper than teins, but im not going to pay more money for a name ive never heard of. They do look nice tho.
 
the car is to be ran in the canyons, possibly the track, but mostly canyon running.
TURBOMIRAGE how can you vouch for the PIC stuff?
 
how about you order some stiffer springs for your ground controlls and keep your konis if this is a street car and why do you think that you need to drive like a wild man on twistie mountain roads it people like you who kill peoples friends yes it will happen that gravel spot in the middle of a turn and then ther is a car coming straight at you seems like a bad idea to me NO I KNOW THAT IT IS A BAD IDEA put in some track time at a local auto x event and learn how to controll your car b4 you try driving like you are a racer on the streets

first off, who the F@#K are you, and second how for one second do you think you know me or how i drive. Do you even know what canyon running is? Its not some sort of unorganized grabastic bullshit. ( about here is where id explain all this, but you seem sorta stupid so ill just let it go with a simple, blow it out your tailpipe jerk off )
 
well what peolpe call canyon runs around here are heading east or south to the mountains and driving like a ass and i assume that is what you do also.

Assumed huh? Well i assumed that everyone in america could spell CANYON. Maybe you meant cannon ball, like cannon ball run, with a bunch of people in crazy outfits driving like bats outta hell. Maybe thats what you were thinkin huh?:D
