Need some input. Found one for cheap, wanna sell the Pathfinder and pick it up.

Specifics ? 88 I think, black on black, leather 5 speed. Really, dangerously, cheap.

I drove one of those before. They're not too slow. That's for sure. I was surprised, but it needed parts, and well I was young and stupid. I didn't feel like having to work on it, when I could have worked on an integra instead?

Only a different Chassis, RWD and a completely different motor and trans. Making it nothing like an Escort LX :)

Thanks for the drifting videos, But something tells me that guy that did the video can drift ANYTHING.
 
They are a TON of fun. I had a friend with one.

Gutted it, 20 psi and drove around killing everything in this town.

They are comfortable for an 80s car and will actually drive pretty straight.

Heads up on the headgaskets though.... its not supra common, but kind of common none the less.
 
theres a kid in town who goes to CART with one.

its not really impressive IMO... but it may be him (not the car)


for daily driver purposes, i wouldn't do it. The PF is way more 'useful' i guess.
project car, sure.... but you have enough of those...

if its that cheap, buy it, tweak it, and flip it.
 
If the head gasket goes, I'll drop a Cossie on the top like a big fuckin cherry :)

CVH - Combination valves ? Interesting. the Lima motor was the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe motor, the SVT Mustang motor, and is based on the same block that was found in the Pinto. Which makes this in the same family as those rolling Zippos.

Anyway, it's $500 so I'm sure it's looking the same as it's costing. Just if it gets me out of the Pathfinder (AKA: The fuckin HOG) then it's all good. The Pathfinder is more effective than valium, only not as cheap.
 
I drive 28 miles a day, and I go through a tank of gas every 3 days.

It's utter bullshit. The thing gets like 15 mpg. And it's automatic, is slushy and is the opposite of "responsive" as you can possibly get without driving a Volvo.

U used to own a 87 merkur xr4ti. I pushed it to 430RWHP and 390ftlb/tq Man i loved that thing but i ended up snapping a rod in it and it destroyed the alluminum esslinger head i had on it. I was tired of fixing it so i just got rid of it. They are really nice chap cars, they come with a turbo and rwd so for anyone who loves to drift its awsome. 175hp stock, but for 50bucks at a junkyard buying mustang parts they go up to 225hp. Pretty fun cars, break down a lot though.
 
I'm going in the direction of something else. Something in the Toyota category.
 
I almost bought one of them too once. They wanted a good chunk of change and it was beat. Quick lil car stock though :)
