Well my car got stolen today, just put the kicker l7 15 in last night and suprise, i come out from work and its not there.
I loved my car, and i cant see how someone could take something that is not theirs, especially a car, from a 16 yr old who loved it. Now i have an ls swap sitting around.. grrrreaat. :(

bummer man. cross your fingers that it only gets stripped and you get the shell back. i've had 2 cars jacked. i feel your pain.

I was going to say welcome to the club of non honda owners! but this thread went the other way.

hope it shows up.

did you buy the sub at a local store? if so, start asking questions....

:werd:

There was a shop in Springfield MA that used copy your registration info while they did installs, and break into your car w/in a month or two after you left.

This shop also copied customer info when purchases were made in hopes of committing the same offence w/out an install.

Yeah, I would Columbo the area while you can. That sucks man.

Sucks that ur car got stolen, but let me say a few things (which are none of my business)

Loud sound systems attract attention. You and I both know the reason you put a 15 in. sub in your car was to get people to notice you. Hell we all did similar things in High School. However, the booming bass of your awesome sound system is not heard by the cute girl in your chemistry lab as "date me, date me" rather, it is heard by lowlife (insert racial slur) as "steal me, steal me". That is one of the many reasons I will never put an obnoxiously loud system in any of my vehicles.

I hope you get your car back. Next time, skip the boom boom, go with some vroom vroom.

i gotta agree with the eskimo on this one

Well I have some good news, and Im trying to make light of what happened.
My DAD found my car, yes.. before the police did (go figure). Today I got a call at school that said some lady had found my wallet, which was stolen with my car. They left a number so I had my dad call and run up there to get it while i was in school. He was driving through the neighborhood when he noticed a set of carbon fiber tails, so he turned and of course it was mine. He drove past, called the cops, they printed it, and i got my baby back :). Only catch is, the system is gone, power wire and all, deck has been carelessly ripped out, and my center console is even broken. They even ripped the honda logo off of my hatch LOL. Other than that, and a nasty new exhaust leak, the car is ok. I'm not expecting anything from insurance, but im still trying. I have receipts for all my purchases except the new sub I just bought. I bought it from a friend, so Ill have to just cut my losses there. Ill post up pics later, though i dont have a before pic to compare to. Thanks for all the support guys. I have definetely changed my views and i am not going to put in another system, ill use the money for a turbo and the rest of the stuff i need to drop in the LS :D

wow, a stolen car with a semi happy ending

you got lucky
i never even got to see the shell and didn't know it was recovered in NYC 13 days later until about 5 months after the theft

congrats to you
and buy your old man a beer for me, good job keeping an eye out

Congrats on gettin ur car back.
If you didnt list the stereo stuff on ur insurance policy, u won't get anything for it, however any damage to the car itself should be covered. Good luck on the swap!

i feel for you man.. mine was just stolen the beginning of this month.. insurance was suppose to give me $3200 for it... (havent seen it yet) good to see that they didnt take you airbags out or f*ck up all the plastics on the inside...
*check out the members rides to see the damage to mine*
just today i replaced the headlights, tailights, and hatch wing, and tried to fix up a lil bit of stuff on the inside...
but thats besides the point (not trying to thread jack)
anyways... good to hear ya got it back in descent condition

how about an alarm and 2 kills switches instead dumbass.

Thanks for the encouragement.. and stating the obvious. What I meant was instead of dropping the money into noise, ill drop it into a turbo. But thanks for being a dick. ^_^

Im not that dumb, i dont think ill make the same mistake twice here and drop 2+ into my car without an alarm and see it get stolen again. I took it to circuit city to see about buying an alarm, then ill have another shop install it simply because i dont really like working with circuit city, but the prices are decent. I have setup a date next week for window tint, alarm install, ignition killswitch install, pain generator (96 decibals of ear piercing noise), and some module that detects breaking glass. Alarm will have a one mile range. Should be pretty nice. I put the stock tail lights back in, looks ok.

Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement, this has definetely been a learning experience... sucks for this to happen at my age but I guess I gotta learn sometime.
