so i've added a new car to the fleet
it'll be my daily driver to replace the first gen crx

this is what it looked like when i got it,. minus all the paint prep

we use masks now, and clear makes me puke
especially without a mask
we used a box fan in our ceiling/attic opening for updraft to try and get the fumes out faster
 
looks great!

i love how you just painted over the windshield. broken glass ftw.
 
we were actually really close to getting this one out but whoever installed this aftermarket window put the urethane way too high on the bottom of the windshield so we could't cut it with the tool

we've never gotten a front windshield out without breaking it yet but we're getting better
 
I like the clear smell the best, it does clog your nose the fuck up though :( I used to spray cars and parts in my 1 smaller garage, we had a crappy ventilation system in there. I would walk out of there blowing all kinds of crazy colored boogies. :p

the douche bag who i bought it from covered the whole front end with this shit ass red primer, lots of red boogers for me after scuffing all that off

i don't spray, my friend does all my paint work
he did my chameleon hatch, then blue and white, then solid blue, then solid blue again after the first one was stolen
he did his accord, his mazda mini truck, my 95 integra engine bay, his old ladies civic, accord, lots of repair jobs

i love clearing in the summer in shorts... and you can just feel all the hair on your legs turn to solid spikes

we need a booth bad, the silver came out great but you can see a lot of dust in the black up top, and then the clear laid down nicely too

black is house of kolors shimmering metallic black and the silver is a mix between 98 civic and 97 accord or civic silvers... napa ran out of base to mix me a gallon of silver and we didn't have enough of any one silver so we custom mixed it :)

the S10 is gonna have the same scheme, this was the feeler to see if it worked well
 
First wear a mask. Second isocyanate poisoning can kill you and cause serios side effects. wear a paint suit, see # 2.
A proper set of safty gear will run 250 is that worth your life? ( fresh air, and a cheap suite.
 
oh and sanding dust is a know carcinogen, And bond dust causes other side effects from mutant sprem to nervous system damages. Wear A mask IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE.
 
im digging the paint scheme man. looks badass and i cant wait to see it on the dime as well. you gonna do any type of pinstripping to break up the silver and black when you do the dime?

i need to see where the body line/paint line is when i do the s10
the original plan for this one was a charcoal pinstripe between the 2 as a transition
we were going to leave the whole hood black, but decided the line needed to flow across the front so the pinstripe was dropped because it would need to go around the whole car
 
My old roomate has almost the exact scheme on his s10. His doesn't lay frame, but its stupid low. Annoying low, all the time.

The body line on his, if I recall correctly is on the corner of the headlights, to the top of the rear tail lights.

Didn't someone have a civic on here with a similar paint job?
