RETIRED
So, as I'm leaving to get coffee... my neighbor comes running over asking me if i'm going to get coffee and if he can hop in... no prob, i'm heading there anyway.

turns out, he hit his remote starter this morning, and when he came out, the underside of his truck is a puddle of oil.... like, all of it. lol
i did a quick look under the hood to see if i can see anything.
oil filter is still on, but there's oil on top of some hoses well above the oil pan.

im putting money on a hole in the block :(

And the people at chevy say that their cars are 'just as good as' foreign cars . . . .

. . . ok guys keep trying.

yup, 4.3... i think its a late 90's 98 maybe?

i snuck a pic... not sure if you can see the puddle good or not :p

Thats what my Honda looked like after I took it out a couple weeks ago  Nothing like taking a hurt motor, hold the wastegate shut and drive the piss out of it :D

yea, you can see the huge oil spill
lol
i hope no one calls the DEC, or whatever the enviromental protection agency is in your state

i wonder how long it was knocking
my friend had one that knocked for a long ass time, until he beat on it one day and it popped the rod

he drove it to the casino last night (~1 hr each way) and didn't notice anything weird.
used the remote starter on it this morning (about 20* out) and walked out to that about 15 min later.

As long as he has insurance that is covered, (fluids/pollution from your engine/whatnot are covered.. just not if your carrying like a tank of oil in the back that would spill)

and that blows... maybe a total loss for a car like that, id rather buy something else and junk/part it than fix it

motor goes duck duck duck boom

the last one we did we got the motor for about 2 bills, they run 400-600
and sell for about 2K with high mileage and unclean interior

and the auto trannies are a pile of shit too
