Remember..I worked on a lot of aircraft, and the older ones fly better and safer. Mainly because all the bugs, ADs, and parts have been worked out. Anything can be rebuilt or bought...and some planes are starting to become a dime a dozen just because other owners can't afford the gas and upkeep. :D

And the Meriden Airport is about 2 miles from my house...

fair enough :)

we have a PA-23-250 at school, pretty neat plane. the one you found was strange looking with that short lil nose though. i like the c55 :) almost twice the price, but nice looking bird :)

booo c-150's.. i would probably come close to maxing the take off weight on that thing alone, lol.

Plus, since I'm already an A&P mechanic, I don't have to pay for maintenance. I got all the tools already, Just rent a T-hanger and stick a heater and fridge in there.

The flight physical is for work, so I can get on flight status, but I'm third shift so no flying, (but an extra $5000 a year) and since it's going to be a class 3 card, I can get the private pilots license after I finish 40 hours of flight, and 20 hours of ground school...the company will pay for the ground school, and half of the flight hours... and the only thing after that would be to get flight certed for certain aircraft...if I can get a twin license, buy a twin engine plane, putt around on weekends at will, the hours will build up, and then when the time comes to get the commercial license, then bam...I get a BS degree in Avtech/Flight...that I started back in 1997...

just out of curiosity how much would a former USAF E-5 hydraulic craftsman with his CCAF make on his first day where you are?

And I even had an L39 land at Daytona, taxied right up to our shop, the guy dropped out of the cockpit and asked if we could fix his oxygen reg... 20 minutes later, he was breathing just like normal...and in the air... a flapper valve had crude built up on it, wiped it with some alcohol on a rag, and good as new...made $500....
