ok.. the GF wants an Ipod, so i thought i'd get her one for Valentines Day, but repairs on my car are gonna set me back as it is.. just wondering why the refurbished Ipods are less.. would they be a better buy than getting a new one..

oh and its from the Apple store.. and come w/ a 1 yr warranty

thats what i wanted to hear.. purchasing it now

Chances are like 99% that your new alternator is a rebuild. And you drive that fucking thing.

This is just a damned music player.

Shit man, your priorities are way the fuck off.

what new alternator?? must be mistaking me for someone else..
i think the part is arbitrary. he could have said alternator/starter/axles. anything that needs a core.

An ipod's life with drops, etc. is about a life. MIne's a year old and it freaks out constantly now. But I still love it. It has tons of love to still give. :)

if it freezes, you need a new battery. i got mine for 25 bucks with an instruction cd rom!! :p
from where? mine needs a new battery and the cheapest i've found it was $50...plus I gotta ship them my Ipod

Dude, You shouldn't have to send them your ipod just to get an ipod! Just tell em that you need a new battery and they should send you one. Or look on ebay but be cautious who you buy it from on ebay! You had the ipod for a year and the battery is going on it already! Damn thats said. I just got the 80 g.b. lol!! Just get her the 2 or 4 g.b. ipod mini so that way you don't spend too much money on her and you can still fix your car lol!! In arlington heights, IL there is a shop that has low ass prices on a bunch of car parts ulternators and other parts! Peace people, My name is Nick l8er

Apple is not going to send you a battery. Besides, if you buy an iPod - even a refurbished one - from Apple with a warranty, the battery is covered, and all you have to do is ship it to them, and they ship you a refurbed one. The reason they sell the refurbished ones cheaper is because it IS a resale of an item that they had already sold. Basically, the replace whatever component might have crapped out (usually the HDD or the battery) as well as the case, slap it back in some packaging and resell it. There is nothing wrong with them, and if there is, it is covered under warranty. Note: changing the battery yourself WILL void any warranty you may have, so if it is under warranty, just pay the 10 bucks and FedEx it to apple.
:cliffs:
Refurbs are good and cheap. The only thing missing is your joy in knowing you don't have a virgin iPod. The end.

just because it's not virgin, doesn't mean it isn't worth fucking with? wait, what are we talking about again?

99% of the time, refurbs are better than new IMO.

I bought a refurb amp at one of those Sale of the Century things at the civic center... oh, 6 years ago or so... kenwood i think it was. paid like 50 bucks for it, 200x2. lasted forever until i sold it... and it may still be out there running..

fuck ipods. they are horribly unreliable. ill stick with my Zen.

i want to get the Zune for myself.. but it only comes in a 30gb and i dont need that much..
