So I'm tryna get off the rotor, and that one phillips head screw that holds it in place refuses to turn, and i'm starting to strip it, any ideas on what to use to unscrew the dam thing?

take a hammer and beat the screwdriver into the philips screw
you need to hit it like you have a set to shock it and it'll come lose

or use a socket and 1/4" extension with a philips bit, then put the ratchet on it after you beat it with the hammer

shocking is the key
worst case = drill the head off then

Drill it out and buy new ones. I had to do that with those retainer screws when we replaced my rear rotors. Only difference is they're not necessary so we never replaced them.

I agree, I have had alot of luck with reforming the head with a flathead or just pouding a philips into it.

Thanks, guys thought about doing all you mentioned just didn't want to go ahead and do it without some input and then have to be telling ya'll well completely fucked shit up. Back outside in the cold I go to hammer away, let ya'll know how it turns out.

I really do appreciate all you hondaswap guys

heating them with a small butane torch also works wonders... get them nice and hot (just about glowing) then let them cool for a minute... after that they come out with a regular screwdriver

i had the same trouble with mine, i used the hammer idea but i got some bad news for ya, those screws are like $20 each to replace from honda

I guess I hammered like I had too much of a set, broke the dam rotor right off, then the screw still didn't want to come out ended up slightly cutting myself in the process, didn't even feel it or notice till I went to grab the flathead and saw all this red shit not dripping but running down into the engine bay. Didn't even look like blood at first kinda like red kool aid. I was like what the fuck, then I looked at my hand and was like shit I cut myself, came inside to run some cold water over my hand expecting to see a big ass cut, turns out it's just a surface cut. Still can't feel it but it won't stop bleeding. Anyways went back out took the flathead and chiseled off the washer and the screw turned easy as hell. lol

fuck that, let me look in my tool box I'm sure I have a screw to fit if not autozone here I come

do not hit your rotor with a hammer, ive done that and made myself some slotted rotors....

you need a manual impact. something like this.. PIT160, Driver, Impact, 1/2" Drive
you'll want a friend to hold it in place while you wack it with a rubber mallet or something. I did this before and did the same thing you did, short of breaking it off.

wait i just read your last post, you got it off. nevermind :p

what were you beating on to break the rotor?
i have never ever broken a rotor using this method
put the phillips screwdriver in the screw to beat it in, 3rd hit the screwdriver slipped to the side and the rotor came with it, just to clarify I'm talking bout the rotor for the distributor guys

When I changed my rotor on my rex, the previous owner put lock-tight in the screw. Pain in the ass to get it off but I just used a drill and phillips bit and it came off.

And 4life you know damn well you cried like a little girl for your mommy!
Hahahahaha...............Naw just jokes

oh.... i was thinking brake rotor...

Yea that's what I figured see, like I said when I first started posting I try not to assume shit cause people make an ass of themselves when they do. and I ASSUMED ya'll knew what I was talking bout
