So tonight, two weeks after my expected completion date, my swap is finished. Granted, I didn't work very hard the last two weeks, as it's been hella cold here.

-But-

I took my car for a quick rip around the block a few times tonight, I'd liken the switch from a SOHC D15B7 to the DOHC VTEC B16A to... Going into a coma as a little boy, and waking up as a fully grown man... That's been working out a lot while in a coma... Well... Whatever... You get what I mean.

When I finally took it down off of the jackstands, I was amazed, I had forgotten how small the damn thing was, the hood barely reaches thigh height.

I was driving my mother's Maxima SE earlier today, and I told a friend that I really hoped my car felt like that when I was done, and he told me, laughing, not to get my hopes up. Well, I think it felt better because the Maxima doesn't rev nearly as high, and doesn't have VTEC to hit. Granted, it's not as ballsy, but my Civic weighs about 1000 pounds less and is so fun to drive.

Just needed to vent my excitement, have had much help from here in the past.

:D:D:D:D:D

Congrats man, it is always a great day when it gets done!

well done, and that first swap takes 2x longer than you think possible. Hell some people start a swap and turbo and never get the car to run and part the whole thing out.

Congrats !

Yeah, I know what you mean about the hood thing.. I've had my cars up on stands so long, when they drop it spooks me out.

ah i remember the day i had my swap dodne. right on, bro. now, i hope i feel like that when turbo is done.
