...or what's left of it

I got a call right before kickoff that they found my crx. I went down to the impound lot, and the guy let me go take a look at it without paying the 'recovery fee'.

hood is gone, wheels are gone, ECU and OBD1 harness are gone, vtec subharness is gone, intake is gone, nitrous is gone, stereo is gone, and all my cd's are gone.

They left my garage door opener (and therefore, access to my R1), my school shirt, all the interior (minus the passenger speaker grille), the door and rear speakers (Alpines), the engine, the exhaust, and my hoodie. The guy at the impound lot was nice enough to let me take my hoodie home, since it's been chilly lately, and that's my only cold-weather clothing.

I'm curious as to why they left my speakers, but took my CD's. I had 100% rock/metal cd's, something youre average stereotypical 'car theif' would have left...I'm pretty sure either someone from school, or someone who knows someone at school, took my shit. I guarantee you that those wheels will turn up for sale sooner or later. To my knowledge, they were the only set of white Track-R's in houston.

The only damage to the body was the trim on the passenger-side window trim, and there's a big dent in the driver side fender (that I'm pretty sure I can fix easily). Other than that, it's looking pretty good.

As soon as I can scrounge up the cash to get it out of impound, it's time to start the rebuild.

Good luck man. Protect it right this time.

Get some insurance already and an alarm.

Glad to hear that. Hopefully those rims will turn up and someone will disappear ;]

I had a question to, what kind of kit do you have on your crx?

:werd:

I'm glad you got it back. At least they left the engine.

Learn from your mistakes and hopefully some people will get their heads bashed in for their's. Good luck on your future projects.

Glad you got it back man, seems they knew exactly what they wanted, but at least you still got your engine

Thank god you didn't have a B series motor in there.

who would have thought a D series motor would come in handy one day? notice they didn't take it =)~

Glad you got it back!

my post dissapeared. wtf.

buy an alarm. hell you spend all that money fixing up the car. whats another $100.

glad you got it back wil.

congrats? i think. how much do you need to get it out of impound? i think you should post a "wtb" wheels ad online somewhere.

They definately knew what they wanted - the fact that the took a Conversion Harness, OBDI ecu, and the other stuff shows that these were not your typical "ghetto gankster" thieves.

or they new EXACTLY what was in your car. i'm betting 2:1 odds you would know who did it or someone directly related to them.

congrats on getting back in somewhat 1 piece.. only a few things gone.. it could have been worse.. i sense a part out thread comin..

eh, he said he was going to start the rebuild when he can afford to get it out of impound.

my vote goes to buying a 94/95 accord with an h22 swap. get away from the ef/eg platform and save some headaches.

dang man...glad to see you got the car back with more inside it than i would have guessed...i cant believe they left so much in the car...you got lucky! i had a friend who had a corolla...and someone stole it and took everthing but the body...and the thieves even primered the body....lol

wow i would have killed to find my car with that much left....
that really sucks they stole the hood wheels etc but even though you lost money on that it wont be that costly to get it on the road again once out of impound

throw on some meshies, paint a stock hood, and boost that Dseries... keep updates on the rebuild..

oh and get an alarm (go to the jy and get some extra alarm speakers and put them under your seats so its really loud inside the car when they are trying to disarm it, maybe even get a cheap small battery to hide to strictly power the alarm so if they try to steal it again and kill the main batt, it will still be annoying as fawk), do a fuel pump kill switch, quick release steering wheel, etc etc anything to make it not worth the hassle
