Project EH23
Well just some pics to share. First time swaping. Sorry for the quality of some pics. I was working in a freesing garage and the light weren't that great for my poor camera. Thanks to all of you that helped including those that helped by posting their works and knowledge here on hondaswap.

he swapped out an sohc nonvtec for a jdm sohc vtec. the jdm single cam is a good motor. plus his old motor probably had high miles on it.

I swap out an sohc vitec d16z6 for a jdm d15b. My old engine had high mileage. I'm planning on building it to put in a cx.

Thanks for the comments.

I live in Boston . The last pics of the car where taken when i got it. I did the swap before it started to really snow. We finaly got a snow day here this wednesday.

How many hours did it take to do this? I'm looking at doing about the same thing and want to get a feel for it. Did you have any idle problems, or any issues with it running excessively rich? I've read a lot of people talking about that.

It took me in work time about 48 hours. I was working alone. Now that i've done it i can say that it can be done in less than that. After the swap the engine was running too cold and the gas mileage wasn't great. I used to get 240 miles per tank with my old z6. I was getting 220. I've read somewhere that the engine running cold could do that. So i changed the thermostat and it running at normal temp now. I can easily see an increase on the fuel economy but i still have to finish that tank to know exactly how much miles i get now.
Concerning the swap , i took both axel out instead of only one because it was easier for me working alone. The harder part would be dealing with screws or bolt that don't want to come out (If you can get an air tool it will be way easier) . If you have a fairly well maintained car you should be fine.

Concerning the purge solenoid i've just attached to my brake booster line. It is not hooked to anything and the car perfectly idles as you can see on the video at 800 rpm.

Listen ,that is the first time i've ever done a swap and i can tell you one thing beside the screw and bolt trouble it was really easy.:)

One last thing: you won't see a large increase of power comparing to the z6 but you'll definitely see that the d15b is far more nervous and agressif . From a 1.5l engine ( 100cc less than the z6) there is nothing else to ask.

I hope it helps.

Good luck on yours and keep us posted. If you need help with anything let me know if i can help.
