or would it be better shelling out more cash for the complete swap?? I dont know the main differences except the itr has lsd and a shorter final drive. Would the usdm transmission be hindering the motors full capabilities? Would accleration and all that be shittier? Also would you neeeeed the jdm ecu or use the usdm si one?

thanks

if its a USDM ITR tranny the only difference is the LSD.. same exact gearing.. the JDM ITR has the 4.7 final

and it doesnt matter which ECU you run for the tranny..

wow this is almost a noob question lol, it will be fine doing that its not gona make that much diffrents, but unless your gona save like 700 bucks, i would just get the full swap.and use the usdm ecu

i think its how i asked too haha. I know you dont need a new ecu for a tranny. swapping out a b16 in an 00 si and putting in a jdm itr long block. The ecu question was for swapping longblocks, not transmissions. In short its a 00 si thats getting an itr long block with the usdm SI tranny and ecu.

new one on me but yea the ecu will be fine as long as it dont have butterflies

i just wasnt sure if the usdm tranny was THAT much different to the point where it would jsut be hindering the car.. this got me thinking of it..

1999 Honda Civic SI $7500 obo but its got 150k on it but he sent me more pictures and the condition is pretty good. He said he'd take 7, but kbb lists his car in good condition for 6500, excellent is only like 7100... Swap in a gsr or itr long block, i/e, keep suspension stock.. have a fun daily for like 10k.. my ej is just in less than stellar condition and has been in an accident... twice (one hit and run outside my apt two years ago..) so putting money in it just doesnt appeal to me. :p

and i'd go with the GSR block.. not as pricey as an ITR

i've actually been contemplating buying a GSR block and build it on the side

true. the itr is only about 500 more though... but for driving around town i know i dont need the high end power. Which leads me to another option.. lol... ep3 with k24 long block swap... keep everything else stock :p

or just get a wrx lol oh btw, the 99 si comes with studded hakkas, which run around 5-600 for a set.. which are needed here.

well, if you're just using a GSR block.. the SI ecu would be fine, since you would be running that head.. i'd throw some p30 pistons in there also

longblock. no block-head swapping. gsr block/head/manfolds, same with itr. maybe i should be clearer :p

k, i just needed to hear it again. Its been a while :p im more concerned about the tranny being a well suited trans for a gsr

a GSR w/ b16 tranny will rip pretty hard..

Hey there now, we forget too quickly on these boards. You're talking about my exact swap, minus all the work and building i've put into the motor. 2000 si with C5 swap using the si tranny cause I gave the type r tranny with lsd to my boy, harness and ecu. Also my P2T is up for grabs as soon as my P28 gets in hopefully this week.
