Automatic? Even if it is I don't think it matters.

naw 5 speed so i cud use the f22a 5pseed ecu

It depends on which F22b you're talking about. If it's the VTEC version, then you'll want a 5-speed VTEC ecu. If it's not, then the F22a ecu should be fine.

I think you said it was the F22b1, which is the VTEC version I believe. If that's the case then you'll want a 5-speed ecu for that particular motor, or you'll want to convert your automatic ecu to manual.

run that by me again. if I use the non vtec jdm, and the f22a tranny (auto) I need a new ecm? What about the F22b, with F22b tranny and F22a ecu?

dont worrie about the ecu it dont mater what ecu you run as long as the ecu matches the motor

Wait, did you change motors or just the transmission?

Tell us exactly what motor and transmission you have and that'll simplify it.

ok its the f22b motor and i wanna match it up with a f22a tranny that means i could use the the same ecu with no problems if it doesnt have vtec

There are different versions of that motor. There's the F22B1, which is a single cam, VTEC-equipped motor, there's the F22B2, which is very similar, but no VTEC, and there's also a JDM dual-cam version, very similar to the US-spec H23.

If you have the VTEC single cam then you'll need a VTEC ecu. If it's the non-VTEC version then the F22A ecu will probably be ok.
