well to all of you that have a little extra money in your poket i would say buy some stock. that is going to go through the rough

ehh.. tough to say. it could really be bad, as it kills the competition.

i'm curios to hear what Cramer has to say about this one.

he'll probably talk about it tomorrow...

savingstalk.com will have some discussion about this shortly :)

well let me know whats up. moms is getting her law suit check at the end of this month and she is looking to invest some...

People that watch these shows don't make money. People that listen to clark howard, cramer still don't make money. Day traders don't make money.

People that keep info to themselves are the one's with the secrets.

thank god, I've been waiting for this to happen for a few months now. My acura has XM and I can't A)@(#$)_(#@ stand that ppiece of 3209$#@($@#($ programing.
god I hate XM.

give me howard, give me chill 35. XM does good for main stream music but my god when it comes to crappy jeff style music XM sucks major balls.

Sirius all the way!

I don't think the FCC will let it fly. Who/What else do t hey compete with really. HD radio , not even really the same thing, Sat. radio is nationwide, I could listen to one station while driving across the country music content is so different, and no commercials.

Whose sats will they wind up using?

My bets are on Sirius.

They are both using the same hardware, doesn't matter "who's satellites" they are using. You'll still lose signal from buildings, trees and bridges (A serious problem here.. heh.. get it...)

XM And Sirius joining forces will be a programming nightmare. but XM stocks went up 8% at newsrelease.

this isn't a monopoly. they allow competition, just the two major stations are joining. it's like att and cingular combining.

i heard about this on sirius on my drive into work today. they didn't say much about it though. hopefully i don't have to buy any new equipment. and i'm going to be pissed if my rates go up. but yay for more stations.

"XM radio receivers can't receive signals from Sirius, and vice versa" So it does matter who's Satellites they decide to use. Or they will need to build a multi-homed reciever. Their Harware is not 100% compatible, have the fact before you start spreading rumor

I'm pretty excited for it from a MLB Standpoint. I could care less about XM programming as Sirius' is far better.

As for stocks, I really don't think they'll increase all that much as investors may hold back if they do combine forces due to the fact that if the new company goes belly up, then guess what, all of Sat. Radio goes up.

As a sidenote; It is amazing how many fans Stern brought to Sirius in the timeframe that it did. I don't think there would be any talks of this merger if he didn't join Sirius. Going from 600k users to well over 6million in a year is amazing growth for a company...

fuck, i just bought a new deck that is sirius compatible. actually, i don't think it will matter because i haven't bought the tuner yet. good thing i haven't i guess.

i can't imagine they would go through with this without hardware testing... kinda like sprint/nextel did.
