Hi everyone,

I'm from Chile, South America and I'm starting to make my first swap, I have a '96 Civic hatchback with it's stock D16Y7 engine.

Parts I've got so far:

- The engine, a '99 B16A2 from a civic SI, this engine is a OBD2b.
- The ECU, a P72 OBD1 from a Integra GSR.
- Throttle cable from a '99 civic SI.
- Harness converter from OBD2 to OBD1, I've got this one since I'm usingthe stock D16Y7 wiring harness that's on the car right now.
- Avid racing motor mounts.
- 93 Integra LS axles.

Parts I don't have:

- Shift linkage, but I'm planning to adapt the one I have right now with some cutting and welding.
- Upper and lower radiator hoses, I think I'll find some custom hoses once I have the engine and radiator in place.
- Half shaft, Wich one should I use?

If you guys can take a look at the parts and tell me if I'm missing something it will be very helpful.

EVERYTHING I MENTIONED ABOVE IS DOABLE FOR ME BUT, THE VTEC WIRING IS GETTING VERY CONFUSING, I KNOW THERE ARE SOME THREADS AROUND THERE TALKING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT I STILL CAN'T FIND THE ONE THAT WOULD SOLVE MY PARTICULAR SETUP, SINCE I'M USING MY STOCK D16Y7 WIRING HARNESS, A OBD1 P72 ECU AND A '99 B16A2 ENGINE FROM A '99 CIVIC SI.
CAN PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO WIRE THIS THING UP.
THANK YOU GUYS, CHILEAN TUNERS WILL BE GREATFULL WITH THIS INFO.
SORRY IF MY ENGLISH IS NOT TOO GOOD.

I woulnt use the p72 ecu not a good choice, get yourself a p30 that is obd1. You didnt mention what transmission you are using but i will assume it is from the si also. If that is the case the axles you have wont work. You need axles from a 94-00 integra, 94-97 del sol dohc vtec, or 99-00 civic si. You will also need the half shaft from one of those vehicles. Find a ecu pinout for the obd1 vtec computer. It will be on this site somewhere. Then add the wires you need for the knock sensor and the other stuff related to vtec. You would also be better off spending a little more cash for a b series shift linkage it will shift much better im sure. Also if you get a new radiator for a si civic your radiator hoses will be easier to install. The rad you have now has a smaller diameter outlets then the water necks on the new engine.

Thanks for everything, now there is one thing I'm not sure about, because the P72 I have is obd1, I even got the Harness converter from obd2 to obd1 and it plug right in.

If somebody can post a link or a picture of the pinouts it'll be great.

Thanks

That ecu will plug in, however every ecu has different fuel and ignition maps on it. If you want your engine to run right i suggest getting the right ecu for. The p30 obd1 ecu would be the best choice for you.

Your right, the thing is that I've had a hard time getting that ECU and there is a guy here that has the software and chips to do a remap to the ECU, if it dosen't work I'll get a P30 like you said.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep in mind your suggestion.

Well if you have a link to the pinouts to do it it will be great, thanks again.
