mine? well... not mine personally. everyone knows what it is. a POS mirage :)

tons of other 5g mirage coupe/sedan owners have had their cars called civics.... 6g civics lol

what about your civics/bimmers/nissans/POSes?

back before I did any mods, like even before my stereo system some guy rolled up beside me and asked if it was a factory hotrod.

I was like, well... it's factory...

The outside salesman at my work will still swear to this day I put Acura emblems on an Accord coupe.
"I've seen those "Type-S" stickers at Autozone...you're not fooling anyone."

The Excursion is always called a Suburban...always....then I correct them....then they say WTF is an Excursion?

everyone seems to know what the Mini is

Not a mistaken identity per say, but I had just finished whipping a guy in a celica gt, pulled into the mall parking lot (me and the woman were going to see a movie) and he followed me in.

I'm driving a crx si with a '98 civic front end, neuspeed suspension (compete with sticker on window) motegi's, and a b18 that wasnt distastefully loud, but you could certainly tell it wasnt the factory exhaust. Shaved everything (door handles, molding, blah blah).. Oh, and a hood with uber ricer vents all over it.

The guy rolls up beside me and asks... "Is that stock??"
I looked at him and said "Yeah.. yeah it is. They come out of the factory that way." and walked away.

I have a RHD sil-80.

I had 3 kids walk up to me oohhh and awwwing. then they said, "is this a honda?"

Fucktards.

I havent had this problem but my buddy with the Colt gets Civic or GTi all the time. It rly pisses him off, actually, he gets pissed when I remind him its a Dodge too :p He snaps back, ITS A MITSUBISHI  (we all know it says Dodge on the back though)

People think my Vega is a Vega.

You all do, so I guess that says volumes about you guys too :)

Well my old 86 POS civic got mistaken for a "race car" lol it looked like shit and was completely stock lol back when i was in high school i was one of the few that knew how to drive stick and when retarded kids see a 5 spd, they assume it's a race car :shrug2:

well sorry it's not too hard to mistake your vega for an H3 that got kicked by godzilla.

What's that even supposed to mean ? OH by the way, I'm selling a bunch more of my Toyota Truck goodies. Lemme know.

Someone at work once glanced over my shoulder while I had this picture of my car on the screen:

aaa.sized.jpg

Their exact words:

"Cool, what is that, an old Mustang?"

I get a lot of, "what is it" for the WRX since I have the carbon fiber hood with huge scoop on the front, with the car sitting lower and on different rims than most anyone has seen around here before.

Once in the car, I get did you turbo this?

Honestly, it does look like a compact version of the fox bodys. Look at the lights being the same general shape and same style, the slant of the nose. The mustangs hood is longer, but the roof line slopes the same way all the way back to the rear quarterpanel and thats where the cars become significantly different in shape.

They're from the same era, if you don't think one influenced the other then I can't help you.

Then again, in person the size difference become apparent and significant, but in a picture with that deceiving angel from the side its easy to see how a non-car enthusiast would be confused.
