So I got my headers in today, took off the ls headers and went to put on the new ones but they won't bolt up to the catylic converter the flanges are at a different angle. The type r headers flange are horizontal and the flange on the cat for the si is diagonal. Would a cat for a gsr be able to bolt up to the exhaust for the si and the headers for the type r?

Hit a muffler shop, they can chop off the flange and re-weld it at the right angle. Shouldnt cost you more then $15.00.. (chop the cat flange, not the header flange.. Header will last longer and you dont want to chop that up)

You just saved me 2 times the money I didn't even think about that. Cause I had ordered a new high flow cat with the headers and was chaulking that up to a lost and order a new one that would fit, I'll just take it to the shop tomorrow and get it done

what kind of v6 or v8 engine are these headerS going on?

i had to do something similar, i had to have the cat extended to the header, it was a tad too short, cost $15 at a muffler shop

Well new header and cat is on, cost $43.46, but het still cheaper than ordering a another cat. Yea mine turned to be a tad bit short to bout 2 inches, but this worked out a lil better for me, cause when I did the swap and found out my DC header off the b16b were a tad bit too short I had to use some stock ls header and the lil triangular bracket was in the way so I cut that off but now that I have the right header, there's no bracket to hold it in place so there would have been some serious flexing going on and probably cause a leak. So I just used some channellocks and a c-clamp to pull the cat up to the header and bolt it up, jut gotta remember to be careful if I have to take it off again cause those springs are under a lot of pressure now.

Also, might've saved myself about $500 by finding the shop that fixed the flange for me. I had my lil heart set on getting the Apexi GT spec exhaust for awhile now, which retails for $710 but I found it for $589, but the guy at the shop said he can make me a custom exhaust full stainless steel for $125. What do ya'll think, Apexi, or go custom?

buy the axles back portion and have them make the rest..
