Just wanted to see if anyone travels for thier job, what you do, how far you drive. I just put 1200 miles this week on my work vehicle. I do metrology and I calibrate test equipment. I'm all over the Carolina's.

I am a carpenter by trade. Mostly I build houses, side them, trim them, etc.

I commute all over Western Washington. Right now its about 48 miles. Not too bad. I wouldn't say its super traveling, but I work over the mountains from time to time and such and it gets old.

Talk to Jeef - he travels everyday.

I have business trips a few times a year, but nothing big. My possible new gig though could be up to 50% travel to Cali/Texas and Florida...

:)

I drive around New England 5 days a week. I calibrated and repair dispensing equipment and fixing mixing equipment. I am lucky because most of my work is somewhat close to me, well within 3 hours so I am home most nights. I dread some of my further points since I am stuck in hotels most of the week.
If you don't have it already satellite radio is your best friend on the road.

I've got the next best thing to satallite. An mp3 player with 30g of music. Also have office space, for the bad days at work, even if I can't watch when I drive.

Have you guys ever experienced any "highway hypnosis"?? A guy I work with said he drove 18 wheelers for awhile but it just got to him. He finally gave it up one night when he pulled over to sleep, but then woke up a few hours later, driving in the fog.

I have had driving hypnosis... Scared the SHIT out of me... Was driving to Baltimore... Got about 30 miles away, decided I needed a nap, next thing I know, I"m around the corner from the site I had to go to...

And I travel alot for work... Sometimes driving distances, sometimes flying... I don't usually put miles on my cars because I try to use a company car wherever possible.

Dude is 60 something. He has had a very interesting life. Doesn't have too many drinking stories though.

I travel the country doing store set up for lowes. Driving from coast to coast. I can be gone from home for months at a time. Month before last I logged 7000 miles on the company rig. Just me and the sirius!

I travel around town all day between jobs. Every now and then we'll get far away jobs like Findlay, OH, Indianapolis, or Decatur/Champaign, Illinois.

I love travelling, I love the interstate system. Especially around I465, except at 5:30 pm.

i own a home exterior cleaning business and rebuild any honda i can find for a good price no matter where it is so i travel about 1500 to 2000 miles a week. gotta love life behind the wheel. the tickets are abundant
