Ive heard that the only difference between the dx and si tranny in 89-91 is 5th gear.
Is it a longer or shorter gear?
Im looking for the reason why 5th gear is different?

yea the si tranny will be a little bit shorter geared, but not enough to worrie about it

i was looking at a flywheel and clutch from LSD.
Not too much for plans for the car, but ya was thinking since it was out, why not. Gonna wait till the tranny i got is pulled, cause i dont know if the guy did anything too it.

I figured thats all i can do with the tranny, probably get a cheap short shifter too.
dunno what i'd do to engine since its sohc, rather have a zc dohc
but if u got some suggestions, feel free to shoot.

Order a zc dohc , clutch and flywheel, water pump. Run me about 2k

thats about a 1000 bucks to much you can get a b16a sir 2 for 2 grand with a tranny

i did my first swap in the gravel driveway, thats all i had and i rented a cherry picker to get the motor out, and it was a h22a in a civic.

ya doing it myself would save me like 750.
(nice specs blanco)
we'll see, idk none of my buddies seem up to it, letting me use there place.

ya i think im gonna just have a tranny put in with a flywheel and clutch.
save me a lot of money, car will be fast enough for me, got alot of compression. i can go down hills in 5th and the car slows down

but i would drop a zc dohc in my bandit, blanco, run that with a light ass flywheel and clutch, and i will be set. I'd be doing that swap with my dad, since im not gonna dedicate myself to racing till i have a shop.

blanco u should send me pics of ur car!

basically I always got it from the gearing how it is laid out.... depending on what i am doing with it is how i chose the transmission i used.

Yea you kind of got to install them and see the difference in the gearing, i suppose you could take it apart and maybe tell the difference...lol

i was told there was a difference but they guy couldn't remember, so i figured id ask.
I would of done something with the serial numbers, like they do with the vin's
