Well, I stayed out late because it's a friend's last night in town ='( Here I am at 3am, already sleep deprived and stressed out from work wondering how I'm going to get through tomorrow. Needless to say, I picked up some of the new 5-hour energy drink crap and we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I dislike the fact that I'm mildly allergic to caffeine and currently undergoing testing for some nasty chest pains I've had for a long time. It says no more caffeine than a cup of coffee, though they don't say how big of a cup =X. They've made it such a huge deal, so I'm curious... I'll fill you all in tomorrow.

a "cup" is a measure on its own

so did you already drink this, resulting in the chest pains? or are you planning on drinking it this morning?

a "cup" is a measure on its own
not true. technically 1 cup=8 fluid ounces. a redbull is 8 fluid ounces and 1 cup. anything bigger and you are asking for trouble.

most energy drinks like sobe dereline rush focus more on taurine and creatine than caffine

In my area they now sell $10 cans of Oxygen. It's scented, and it's awesome. When you're getting tired (moving my apartment) take a huff and you're good to go again.

One of the managers at my work drank one of those 5 hour energy thingies and went to the hospital in an ambulance with chest pains, palpatations, and about a 200 heart rate. I wouldn't recommend it.

Cel- Is that why Oxy bars are all over Vegas? I think it's the next big thing... It gets you high... and it energizes you. Have one in a store and I guarantee higher sales and better customer satisfaction. I also don't recommend RedLine on an empty stomach. I felt like I was a crack fiend.

I was delirious when I made this thread last night, sorry for the illiteracy. I made that post before going to sleep for 2 hours and hadn't taken the energy drink yet; I took it when I woke up. For a few hours the energy it gave me was laced with pure physical discomfort. It was then I realized that I skipped breakfast. After eating something, it's been awesome. I feel as if I just got a full nights sleep and an odd sense of anticipation, as if I'm receiving a present when I get off work =P. No chest pains from the drink, those come natural. I was just venting some paranoia. Anyhow, this has to be my second time ever drinking an energy drink(Except for Jager bombs) and it has been a very successful experience. Nevertheless, I won't continue taking them because I don't like screwing with my personal human nature.

The casinos in vegas add O2 in the hvac system, rumor has it to keep the gamblers awake and alert longer, so they can loose more money

Unbelieveable. $10 for 4.4 grams of oxygen?

Yeah, it'll revitalize and give you energy blah blah.. for a grand total of like 15 seconds, then its back out of your system.

Well, I was motivated as FUCK and got a huge amount of work done until around 2:30.... That's when I started feeling tired again, but there was no low. I just felt like I didn't have enough sleep instead of wanting to collapse. My body probably hates me, but that turned out alright =D

A mask, a tube and an R of O2 from a welding store would do the same thing, cheaper. :) (Per dose, that is.) Though you might want medical grade O2 for a little more. Still cheaper though.

Thread from the dead!

Yeah, I just took another one of those drinks for the first time since I made this post and I don't feel so good at all. I'm nervously awaiting the results from my stress test and am already paranoid about taking energy supplements. I'm pretty sure anxiety is the main problem here, but I'm not enjoying this at the moment.
Hmm, it is anxiety because by the time I finished venting all of that, I already feel a bit better. Not much, though. SPAST!

yea...anxiety + energy...might not be a good combination...i would think of taking energy supplements when you are just slap tired...and not being anxious of anything
