ok first off....i need full instructions on a h23 swap to a h22 for my prelude...another thing i need to kno is where can i find full performance suspension for my 92 prelude and hopefully for pretty cheap....and another thing is where can i find polyurethane motor mounts for my lude... and how to change my head gasket...i basically need a full book on how to....for performance to a prelude, performance head gaskets...gauges....turbo..fuel....computer tuning everything!!! anyone got any ideas? thanks for the help

well first , i would try posting a thread in a prelude form , even though there are a few things compatible between the prelude and accord , what your asking would be better answered in a prelude forum. as far as knowing how to preform the work , i would try a chilton repair manual for your car !!! READREADREADREAD !!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an idea: go out and buy a book!! Buy a repair manual for your car and also a book on Honda performance, just go to Barnes & Noble or Borders and look in the automotive section or even most places like autozone will have books on Honda performance. Don't expect someone to just sit here and type out an entire reference manual for you. Do some research on your own and then if you have specific questions, come to the forums and ask.

ok instead of being a dick head...maybe i already tried that....i live in Syracuse no one and i mean no one carries anything about preludes.....yes i already researched my car i jus need torque specs and shit....and all the honda performance books say is what each performace upgrade does to the car not torque specs damn...

WTF i dont believe that for shit !! OK you got the internet so why cant you order the damn book !!! Also 9 out of 10 performance parts get torqued to factory specs. And your telling me you have no Auto parts store with in 50 miles that you cant drive to and order the damn thing, Autozone, napa, advanceauto, pepboys, ect. they all can access these repair manuals, first of all if you cant find a simple book to work on yourcar , where the hell are you gettting the performance parts from !!!!!!!!!!

wow how much crack do u smoke each day....yes i already tried this shit....trust me...and im sry i dont build my car with advanced auto and pepboys performance parts...maybe u prefer that but i dont. i order my parts off line and i used to live right next door to a performance shop in FL that is where i used to get my parts from

why don't you just call the performance store you lived next to in FL and have them get you what ever you need and ship it to you UPS USPS FedEX. if you don't have the phone number try White Pages Phone Directory with Free People Search. This internet thing you're posting on is a great tool to get anything you want be it phone numbers, shipping companies or car performance part....... give it a try

First off, that's bullshit. I don't care what hick f-ing town you live in, if you have an Autozone/Advance/Pepboys/whatever in your town then you can go there and by a Haynes or Chilton manual. They cost around 10-20 bucks, and they will give you detailed instructions on how to disassemble pretty much any part of your car and they list all of the torque specs for everything.

Now I'm not saying buy your parts from those stores, I'm just saying you can get a damn repair manual with torque specs and all the other info you need from them!

And as evidenced by the fact that you're posting on an internet forum, then you are also capable of ordering a repair manual from Ebay or the Haynes or Chiltons or Helms websites if the parts stores in your area truly don't have it (which I very much doubt).

Look, I live in Metro Detroit, where imports aren't looked on very kindly at all, and even so, all the parts stores have repair manuals for import cars, most of them even stock import tuning magazines and performance books, so if I can get them, then I know you can...

Second, like the other guy said, most any part that you take off and replace with a performance part is going to use the same torque specs as the original, so a repair manual is all you really need to do bolt ons by yourself.

As for where to buy parts from, I usually buy from Ebay or from the websites importrp.com and modacar.com. That's where I've found the best deals on stuff so far, but I'm sure there's other places that have decent prices.

Third, I didn't mean to come off like an a-hole, but go read your first post again. You come to this site as a total noob, and then basically asked for an entire write up on how to swap your engine, plus a write up on how to change your head gasket, plus a shitload of other questions!

That kind of stuff has been covered a million different times on a million different websites, you just have to do a little searching (or reading, like in a repair manual or performance handbook, hint hint). Don't expect somebody on here to write you a full performance handbook for your car. Do the research first, and then if you have specific questions, come here and ask.

And by the way, the performance handbooks are not worthless. I don't know which ones you've seen, but I've seen one that specifically walks you through a ton of different Honda engine swaps. Can't remember the title at the moment, but they're definitely worth looking into.

And fourth, why do you want to put an H22 clutch on a H23 transmission?? I think a better option would be to swap the entire transmission over to the H22 version, which is geared shorter.

Que pasa?

wow....ok yes i have been to these places....NO ONE HAS THEM .... ive tried to order them from autozone/pep boys/ and all other places mentioned.....im not going to go buy a h22 tranny, and then in 3 months get my h22 (which comes with a tranny)first im going to build my suspension and then build my motor..i need a new clutch because my girl burned mine out so i was thinking well if im going to buy an h22 in 3 months then why not swap the clutch when im ripping the old motor out...and im really not looking for bolt on's im looking for internals as well forged and ive herd that when u change a head gasket and u put lets say a copper headgasket..you have to torque it down different than stock...i also want to build up my head with titanium valves springs and retainers...and one more thing i didnt want u to write out a whole chiltons repair manual on my car....just someplace to order it because the places around me are taking for ever and its back ordered for months at a time.
damn we all drive honda's lets get along!!!!!

Or you can buy the tranny now and buy just the engine and ECU later. I just don't see the point of installing a clutch (not the easiest thing to do FF cars like ours and then a few months later uninstall it and then install it into a different transmission.

If you need to drive the car right now and you can't drive it without replacing the clutch then yeah I guess it makes sense. Otherwise I'd say wait or just swap the entire transmission now.

And I still can't believe you can't find a Haynes or Chilton's manual for a Honda in all of Syracuse, but whatever. Check out Ebay, I see people selling them on there quite a bit actually.

Edit: And by the way, if your girl can't drive stick very well, then why the hell are you letting her mess with your car?? That's a great way to burnout clutches, by letting people who don't know wtf they're doing drive your stick shift car...

There no reason why you cant get this book now !!!!!!!!!!! And my friend , i highly recommend reading this book from front to back atleast twice so you understand what your doing . A clutch swap isnt that bad in a prelude i have done a few and takes about 4 hours from start to finish. and thats at a novice level , replaced one in my old accord in 2 hours !!
