about how much is a in ground dyno gona cost to own.

the mustang my friends shop has cost $50k.

don't even try to get an awd dyno.

yea the only thing ive heard was 20 grand but this was from a riecer so i figured i would ask, thanks guys

The dynapack is actually better. and the AWD dyno (full purchase price after tax etc) is 120k you need the 4 link. I wouldn't buy one off eBay. After shopping around, Mustang and DynoJet are most popular, but the Dynapack is more accurate at simulating real world driving conditions.

Actually the Mustang dyno or Dyno Dynamics are best for simulating real world driving. Dyna-packs do this also, but the charts are difficult to read and you don't get a true whp figure since, well, your wheels are off. :p My buddy paid about 100k for his AWD Mustang dyno

doing dynos and tuning doesn't give a shop that much revenue. it's having it there as an added feature for adding performance parts and being able to tune them.

yea thats why i was wondering price if they was like 10 grand id buy one and i would make my money back in 4 days lol,

how would you make it back in 4 days?

well down here theres 95% ricers and the only dyno around is 45 min away and he charges 50 a pull so i figured id charge alot less andj ust dyno all freakin day lol

Not necessarily true. Most of the shops' money is in general repair, sure, but we make a good amount on tuning due to the fact that we're the only shop with a dyno in 60 miles. We have people taking 4 hour trips to come to us too, which is pretty odd. Now, take into account we MAKE 100 a tune (that pays the tuner) we take the other 150 and put it into the dyno payment. (Glad it doesn't belong to me... haha.) But, when the other 3 shops in the area put in their dynos... they're going to try to undercut 'our' shop. Funny part... Artie will be tuning at ALL 4 shops. :D Weekend Warrior!

Mike - I'm going to argue with you about this when I see you and can show you proof. ;) Dynapacks are better. That is all.

well, it's hard to just get people in the door. if they are really ricers, they wont care about tuning. they will just have i/h/e at most.

you have to build a rep as a good tuner. if it were that easy to make $2500/day doing tuning everybody would do it.

he's taking pulls only, no tuning
so at $50/pull he would have to do 50 a day to make the $2500/day he mentioned.

that is nearly impossible. but anyways, good luck with the business if you are able to get financed for it.

yup pulls only, and the rep not a problem i run into new ppl every week thats says hey your that kenny guy arent ya, and i just smile and say mabe lol
