 to who ever that has completed a ZC swap into a CRX Si 91'. i need all the info. in doing the swap and was told that it bolts right in? I was planning at first just to swap in a 92'si hatch motor, but decided to buy the ZC from one of my boy. he said i need to do some mods with the wiring. What parts, wiring info., and what problems i might get into??please if ya completed this swap, and your car is running fine. Please help a brother out and so therefore i can get this over with. Currently i'm trying to finish my first swap of an type r motor into my 92'si hatch, hey almost done. any info. regarding the ZC would be a great help. thanks ya......

What You Need

USE ALL ENGINE WIRING, RESISTOR BOX, ECU, DISTRIBUTOR, MOTOR MOUNT BY

THE CAM GEAR, TRANNY AND AXELS FROM THE ORIGINAL CRX SI MOTOR ON THE

NEW MOTOR AS LONG AS ITS A "D" SERIES ENGINE EVERY THING WILL FIT

(YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TRIM DISTRIBUTOR HOUSING TO ADJUST SPARK TIMING CORRECTLY), USE A TIMING LIGHT :driver: "D"

for 90 crx
do you think for the d16a1????
d15b7 tranny and flywheel fit to the d16a1 and i know ill have to change the dizzy and t/b but i think thats it and out ppl argue that it will not go in no matter what i do unless its make my own mounts

if you have a JDM DOHC ZC it will bolt right in and you need to make a minor wiring change at the distributor - if the engine is a D16A1 from 86-89 Integra, it is not a ZC and will not bolt right in and really is not worth the hassle to try and use it - we have been swapping DOHC ZCs into these cars for the last 8 years and have done around 3 dozen of them - what do you need to know?

the D15B7 transmission uses a hydraulic actuated clutch where the 88-91 cars use a cable actuated clutch - to use the D15B7 transmission in the 88-91 cars you would have to fabricate mounts for it - you would have to either install the hydraulic clutch system in the car or somehow convert the transmission to use a cable clutch - the D-series transmissions have a different bolt pattern (where they bolt to the engine) than the CG transmissions, used in the 86-89 Integras - you can get most of the bolts for the D-series transmission into the D16A1 block, but not all of them - the starter on the D16A1 mounts different than on the other D-series engines - it bolts to the transmission only where the other D-series starters have one bolt to the transmission and one bolt thru the transmission into the block - the D16A1 engine block does not have a hole for the long starter attaching bolt that goes into the block, so you end up with one bolt holding the starter on - the driver's side engine mount on the D16A1 is on the front (toward the radiator) of the engine and not on the end like other D-series engines - you need to fabricate a new mount in order to bolt the engine into the car

yeah i was gonna buy a cable tranny for $80 and the fits on that motor but one bolt hole is not there and i just came up with an idea to do bothstarter bolts and plus there is hydro tranny mount for the 88-91 civic/crx and a guy told me that i can put the notor mount it bolt holes that are all ready there
