I'd just leave it stock. ride it till you get tried of it and want something newer, sell it and move on.

Leaving it stock will help keep the value up even more so since it looks like its clean.

The first thing that crosses my mind when I see a painted bike is NO THANKS
it screams that something happened.

well the bike isnt stock a it is.

they didnt offer silver from the factory for that year, and underneath some of the fairings you can see tiny bits of green from what im guessing was the original color.

Sweet find that bike is bad ass!!!

Congrats

Holy crap, I love that bike !

Looks great . I wanna see the nose under the sign, to see if it's REALLY the year that I like.

In that case you paid to much for it :p

Either way its a good bike and as long as its in good running shape you should enjoy it.

it has the 2 big round headlights on the front ;)

Yeah, I was going to say, that thing's been painted.. Those arent the original kawasaki logos. As a matter of fact, I think they are vinyl shop cut outs.

Go over it with a fine tooth comb, check every weld on the bike. If its been painted, its been layed over or crashed at some point in its life. Cruizing down the highway at 70 mid-corner is a bad place to find out you have a cracked weld in the frame.

P.S. I hate to be a total kill-joy, but you got raped on the price.

kbb says 3100
with all the new stuff on it i thought 3500 was fair.
it was previously owned by a mechanic and a real nice guy. in 5 years hes had it he hasnt dropped it.
ive talked to multiple people who know or have ridden with the guy and they all agree that it was very well taken care of.

your the only person out of probably 50 that told me i got raped on the price.
and honestly i didnt even try to talk him down. 500 bucks isnt shit to me, so what was the point. i was just glad to finally find a bike i like. didnt want to screw it up by trying to lowball the guy or talk him down. a couple hundred bucks doesnt mean anything to me right now.

for a bike that isn't stock and has that many miles you did pay a lot.

My brother just snagged up a 2002 F4i that had 1 minor scratch that is on the underbelly of the bike from the guy hitting something while moving it in the garage. he paid the same (3500) and also picked up a helmet and leather jacket to go with it. as part of the deal.

1100 bucks more for a UsedList
2001 R6 with 10K miles. that's before talking them down, I bet you could have nabbed it for 4000 OTD.

This place either rebuilds or simply cleans up a bike, this one looks to be one of cleaned up bikes. I've bought a bike from them in the past and had great luck with it. I paid just under $3K for my 2001 bandit 600 with less then 2K miles on it.

Either way it doesn't really matter, you should have a blast on it!

yeah, actually all his gear was included, but he weighs 45lbs less then me so i cant wear the stuff :p
the aftermarket stuff is good for me imo, just stuff i wont have to do.
i dont mind it being painted either, cause i dont like the stock colors for that year AT ALL
;)

Nice bike. Looks semi-clean and is in decent shape.

But I have to jump on jeffie's band wagon, its annoying, cuz it can't change your mind, but I found f4i's all day for around 4k.
