Right now I've been running the carpc off of an inverter; which is power-consuming when the car is turned off. I want to convert everything to run off of the battery/12VDC. The monitor will be easy; but is there a way to convert the PSU to run from a DC source(maybe bypassing the bridge rectifier)? Anyone know about PSU's in general?

Also, how do you force the computer to go into standby instead of shutting off and make it wake up on ACC On?

There are DC-DC PSU units for car PCs available. Just gotta look around. Not too expensive either.
