im getting a single cam vtec next week i was wondering how to wire up tha vtec and is it worth getting a vtec controller?
i will have tha vtec harness and a chiped ecu so what wires will i run?
 
do u know where i can get a diragram so i dont conguse tha wires?
and is there a knock sensor as well well im assuming ita already wired up to tha harness?
 
cool i get tha motor tuesday and im swaping it next monday i think idk yet
 
thanks i know i can get tha motor in tha only fear it tha wiring tha vtec i have swaped that motor like 3 weeks ago and cot a d15b8 and ita a pos with 70 hp nd it cant hit 90 so i got a vtec engine

and yea a racing clutch too
 
ok so i got tha motor in and tha vtec wont kick i have a p28 chipped with tha stock harrness for tha motor it came out of an EG so it was running im assuming i one question i looked at does tha valve cover have to be grounded? cuz i dont think it is cuz one of tha screws where it get grounded it stripped so it out connect to it im am getting tha 21CEL which is the vtec circut i ran a stright wire from tha a4 pin to tha solniade nothing happended i ran a hot wire to it and it clicks which means its good there is oil in tha car so idk what else to do any tips

any one?
 
also im getting tha 15 CEL which is i belive ingintion out put which in dont know what to do on that either any other ideas
 
grounds are very important, clean all connections to motor and chassis.

VTEC - have you cleaned the screen at the soleniod;)
 
i have the same swap and a chiped ecu the vtec is really not that strong so you can only tell if your really paying attention. the stock vtec without ecu is almost unnoticeable.
 
ok so tha thing is i havwe a 95 delsol with a zc block and a 1.6 vtec head cant get vtec to kick in at all it wont go more than 3000 rpms sometimes its powerless
i have a CEL of 21 vtec circut and 22 pressure switch
i was thinking bout putting tha stock harness on and just wire up tha vtec cuz i have tha 1.6 harness onit do u think that would be tha prolbem? or what to u think?>
 
I doubt thats the problem but but try if you want

The harness for the 1.6 vtec engine will work in your car
 
i know that y i dont know whats wrong i dont know y its throwing thoes codes im like at a dead end idk what else to do does ne one have an idea on what else it could be?
