this isnt exactly a product review, moreless a company review. just wanted to inform fellow board members before purchasing (there are MANY MANY places to buy from on the internet!!!)

to anyone debating ordering through blaastperformance. my experience has been negative. i wanted the 44mm blaast wastegate for $250, they "no longer make it due to problems" but they have a 46mm (for $250 as well) to replace it (that is nowhere on their website, no pics, nothing)....not to mention the only way to pay for stuff was through paypal, no credit cards...what a hassle for someone who doesnt have paypal. after receiving it and sending it to the place thats building my manifold, they called and said that i would have to cut a good bit of my core support out just to fit this ginormous thing. screw that. so i decide to go with a 38mm. i can get a 38mm TIAL for $210 shipped through Synapse, so i call Blaast to find out what i need to do to return the 46mm blaast and get my money back. they say "we cant do that, that was a special order wastegate and we didnt even have one in stock, oh and we dont make the wastegates here...we can give you someone of equal or more value though". so, they will not give me my money back. instead the guy said they have what i need...a 38mm TIAL for $250 or 38mm blaast for $250 how stupid is that, not to mention i payed $250 for the much larget 46mm blaast. after a 10 minute arguement over their return policy (what kind of company refuses to give you your money back???) he said "well what do you want then?" i said "either a tial 38mm for $210 shipped or give me my $250 back". needless to say, no agreement was accomplished. did i mention he was rude on the phone??

there was some other things that i thought about getting through blaast.....BUT NOT NOW. nor will i push any potential clients their way. so now im forced to (possibly) delay my turbo project bc i have to wait to sell this 46mm before i can order a 38mm tial. super.

Thanks for the heads-up. Also, do you have a thread here that discusses your reasons for such a large wastegate ?

no, i dont....sorry

oh.. Well let us know what you're doing. This seems like a hassle, and unless you're on the track or running like... a bus turbo - I think this whole setup is just "bigger is better", which isn't true in Turbos.

Then, I'm not sure what you're doing, or what your level of expertise is.

it was a good price...just happened to be a 44/46mm which wouldnt cause a real problem for 450whp. but now ive decided to just go with a 38mm Tial and still end up saving about $40 in the end.

No offense at all, but who doesn't have PayPal these days?? Especially if you frequently buy off of the internet...

But anyways, thanks for the heads-up, I'll definitely stay away from Blaast Performance...

Air flow doesn't necessarily correlate with output power. Tell me what kind of gear you're running, your valve spec, cam durations and other important stuff.

Power isn't about CFMs, it's about flow velocity.
