Well the farmington river is flooding by me. Where they detoured us is about 3 miles from me. It took me 3 hours in detours with being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic to get home, the round trip was probably close to 15 miles to get around all this. In an hour and 15 min of this I moved a 7/10th of a mile. All I could do is do some paper work on the laptop when we weren't inching along and think about how bad I had to piss. It sucks when you can't piss and you see the rain, streams going by and seeing everything flooded. Finally when I made it to a side street I finally found a gas station where I took a no lie 10 minute piss.
There is a golf course by where I was stuck the whole thing is under water, its high enough as to where you can boat there. The river is across the street from me, and in one spot its almost touching the road if not already on the road. In a way I want my road to flood so I don't have to work tomorrow but on the other hand I don't want anyone to have any property damage. Just venting because it was a pain but I know shit can be a lot worse. Has anyone else in CT seen a shit load of flooding?

3 out of 4 overpasses in my town that go over rivers are flooded over.

Everything looked very high when I was driving down the masspike near your area today, it seemed like everything was flooded on the side and lakes and ponds were extremely high.

Yeah, most of our resivoirs were damn high, and the blackstone/mumford were almost at flood stage. My father was out all day on detail pumping basements out.

Just refinished my basement........got flooded :( (this is a really long story but the work was guaranteed so all is well)

global warming actually cools the earth.

anyhoo, i got nothing to report. my basement is perfectly dry. i guess thats 1 advantage to living on a hill... it all just runs off down to the bottom... doesn't stop to flood. MY ride in today wasn't bad at all. saw a couple orange barrells where the endge of the road washed out, but thats about it.

the boat loading dock (my office is at a marina) is really high though. its about 10 feet up, almost at the parking lot level. lol

i had 4 detours on the way to work and home from work

we have a view of an "industrial" boat yard across the road/river from my office
the water was over the rear bumper on the fuel truck sitting in their yard
they were driving their huge crane around yesterday picking their generator/light units out of the water

alot of people just got their houses finished from the flood 2 years ago
