GSR Pistons in LS

I have a Ls swap im doing, and im boosting it. I wanted to use LS rods and GSR pistons with the turbo. I will only be running around 10 pounds of boost, but im not quite sure what the compression is going to be with the GSR pistons. I know the LS internals will hold somewheres between 300-350 HP before giving out.. So im not quite sure what the best route to go is, (on a budget). I already ordered the pistons and they are USDM p72AO (B18C1). Thanks

why the gsr pistons?
use the LS 81.5mm with some nice rings.

lower CR with cast pistons will do better than having a little higher CR and cast pistons.

Well I figured that the GSR pistons would hold up better. So LS internals are going to be better for a turbo settup?

Problem with the GSR pistons is you'll bump your compression up. This will make it harder to run boost on a safe level.

LS motors IMO are the best (safest) ways of doing a stock motor turbo car.
I'd just leave it be and down the road when stuff gives out, do a nice build.

Thanks bro, I want to do a mild build right now, Just mess with the head a little bit and maybe run 12 or 13 pounds. I was thinkin 5 angle valve job, and a port and polish.

yeah definitely wouldn't go with the gsr pistons, as mentioned your raising your cr for no apparent reason plus the wrist pin widths are different between B16/LS and GSR/ITR- they won't fit quite right on the LS rods.

If those gsr pistons are .25 over I might be interested in them tho- they'll fit nice in my motor :)

High compression+turbo=A decent engine if tuned properly or a blown engine if you don't know what you're doing.

sure but he has cast pistons

HC forged pistons and low boost is okay.... but the cast pistons is his weak link

True, but I would think with that high of compression plus boost, if he doesn't have a good tune and premium gas, alcohol injection, or semi race gas...he is flirting with detonation. The stock cast pistons would not be the way to go, just as Formby stated.
