Just replace the rear hatch glass on my 91 civic, but the rear defroster does not work. The light on the rear defroster switch does not light up. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it a fuse? thanks

Check the fuse first...simple things always go un-noticed. If the fuse is good, use a dmm to check voltage at the switch and rear defrost grid.

Yes simple like..........the plugs on the glass in the corners.

Dont make it hard on yourself buddy take the easiest solution first and than progress.

Yes...just figured checking the plugs was a given, but even if the plugs were unplugged wouldn't the switch still illuminate?

You wouldnt believe how people go straight to the most complicated shit, skipping right over the littlest things.

Like my friends cousin, he tore his whole motor apart because it was over heating. I mean tore apart like down to the main bearings!!!, turned out to be the head gasket was bad.

I dont know, im no wiring expert

I've been bitten by the simple things quite often. I looked forever to find why my daytime running lights weren't working in the truck...I checked the fuses with a dmm...from metal pin on top to metal pin on top...all had continuity, but come to find out one of the prongs had broken off the fuse into the panel, still had continuity between the upper part of the fuse. Went through the whole damn system before I actually pulled the fuse to check it. Simple things are a bitch at times...sorry that was a long post and really doesn't pertain to anything.
