What Transmission do I have?

Hey guys, my transmission in my 96 Del Sol VTEC was replaced 3 years ago and from what I know, my mechanic put in a JDM GSR one to mate to my B16A2. Now I'm planning to part with this whole engine and trying to authenticate the tranny.

Unfortunately, the middle of the transmission code is essentially destroyed and what I can make out is Y80 T????24.

I believe there might be a 232 in the middle there somewhere as well. Could be wrong.
Wondering if anybody (eg6sir, ahhvtec I'm looking at you) has any insight and yes I have checked out

y80 could be a LS or GSR tranny.. i'll tell you what.. go hit the freeway .. do 80 mph in 5th gear and let me know what RPMs your running at, it'll tell me what tranny you have

a GSR tranny will be at 4000 rpm and i think an LS would be 3500 rpm, but not sure

So I took eg6sir's advice and went 80MPH in 5th. Turns out at that speed I am right at 4000RPM (well 3950RPM). At 3500RPM I'm only going 72MPH.

One note is that I did plus size from 195/60R14 to 205/40R17 but I don't think that'll play a huge role.

If there are no other factors involved, then I guess I know that my tranny is a GSR. Thanks dude!

yep that sounds about right... i have 205/50r15's and i do just over 70 mph at 3500 rpm's in 5th.
