ok so i blew my head gasket no biggy i can replace it well took everything apart do everything by the book put everything back together and then i start putting the head bolt back in LOL what a joke on me i thightened this bolt by hand with my fingers right it gets suck half way in so i take my wrentch to it turns a little and stops so i try to back it out the damn thing wont move so i'm sitting here with my car in the garage wondering should i try to tighten it and chance break the bolt or try to take it out and break the bolt LOL cause the damn thing wont turn either way
can you tell i'm pissed !!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i got some good news fixed the problem i ended up snapping the head stud lol gotta love it anyways i shot up to my job and used some machining bits of my bosses and drillout the bolt retapped it and i'm all good i still dont have a clue as to why that bolt locked up the way it did

i have the same problem when changing out intermediate shafts! you can unbolt it but you mess up the threads when bolting it back on! i even have to shim the bolts cause it wont bolt all the way in. when you find an answer to the problem let me know! lol

well i never really did find out the problem i got my car back together and drove it around all day and no problems
i did ask a friend of mine he told me it was cause i didn't loob the studs before i put them back in
but i dont know i never had a bolt lock up with just the turn of my fingers like that before - and i know my fingers arn't that strong ~ or maybe they are look out ladies super fingers is in the house LOL........... i'm changin my screen name LMAO................

anyway i really dont know what caused it to happen

you are not supposed to reuse head bolts. after they are installed they stretch, since they stretch they are no longer the right size and you are supposed to use new ones. ARP studs dont do this and they are reuseable.

Ummm... isn't that the stock head "bolts" your not supposed to re-use? The reason why people get these head "studs" is for the fact that you can re-use them. Well and they are stronger too.

he's right... ARP are the only studs i know of that don't stretch... but studs usually don't stretch out that much. my guess is that you go it cross threaded or didn't use anti-seize.

if you read his first post its says he is using head "bolts" not studs, i just put the wrong word in there
