there is no place to hook up vacume lines to it?
is this safe? how does it control the boost pressure?
can anyone with experience with these wastegates help

i got it running though.
the starter was dead so we push started it, backwards down a hill ( you know since it was facing up the hill why turn it around).
i was hesitant to beat on it since it was the first time out. . . but then after about 1/2 mile, i did
blew off the charge piping after spooling the turbo up a few times.
also when i got back steam was coming form the engine bay but that was just the result of a loose water line, nothing $5 worth of rubber hose could fix.

you hook up the vac to the top via a banjo

GET RID OF THAT PIECE OF SHIT WASTEGATE!!!!

the diaphram in it is not made of a heat resistant material, it will burn out.
what happens when it burns out? the wastegate doesn't function and lets your turbo spool to its maximum boost potential, say 20 psi. that is bad for an engine. you WILL blow your engine if you continue to use this wastegate... i'd give it no more than 2 months.

Are you sure its not heat resistant?

If thats the case, then i would hunt around for a used TiAL wg.

you would think that they would use a material that would not melt for the application needed.
that's not what i am concerned about.
thanks for the info on where the vac goes!

I would not want to be the one to verify that those wastegates are indeed pieces of shit and have diaphragms which burn out. With that said, this is one part of your system that you absolutely cannot have fail.

they have been proven to work on HMT...

please read up

Yeah but something can work for a little while, and then fail . . . .

I would be cautious. An extra few $$$ is not that much to pay to save your motor.

How long have they worked for? You rarely hear about TiALs suffering from mechanical failure. Regardless of it has worked for a few people for x amount of time, many more people have ran TiALs without fail for years and I will trust them when an external becomes a necessity for me.

FWIW I'm not trying to be confrontational, just throwing another viewpoint out there.

The issue isnt a Tial WG here its a Tial KO.......
i thought it was one of those cheap ssauto wastegates... if it's a Tial it should hold up fine... i'm just saying that the egay ones burn up, i know because it happened to me. fortunately i was like a block from the shop when it went, i simply replaced it with an ultragate38 wastegate from turbosmart.

No no, it is a knock off. The guy above was saying Tial is a reputable brand, and I agree. Thats why I said, Tial isnt the issue, Tial KO's are ;)

i dont think you hook up to the top that is usually for a ebc. there should be a port on the side somewhere i had one of those. dont run it not hooked up there is no way to regulate boost!

there was a 1/8 inch pipe thread in the top i ran a nipple from that.
i can't find anything else to run a line form on the turbo.
good thing i read a little bit more into that shit because otherwise i am running unprotected

dude no

your engine can get the hiv!

it alreasdy contracted a bad case of Chlamidia from neglect and unclean living space. fortunately that was rectified by myself.

but it required a unispotter
