I've got headers and a downpipe in the garage ready to go, minus the gasket.
I pulled the heat shield off my exhaust manifold this afternoon to get a better look at how toasted it is (very well, it turns out).
One of the exhaust studs has sheared off, though. What's the best way to remove and replace the damn thing? It's sitting flush with the manifold, not the block. Would vise grips be enough? Or, will I need to buy a tap & die set (from Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices of course)?
Also, does anybody have any experience with a tap & die?
