aight this is the freakin worst month 4 me the other day i just got done putting my ls/v in my tegy and the 2 weeks later i was driving to my friends house about a mile away and my car over heats i shut it off and coasted to his house and then the next day i go to get it and start it up i had a rod broken hahahahah yeah so i'm getting ready to micro polish my crank put eagle rods and get new pistons and new bearings muahahahah build of a ls/v monster

but building ur bottom is nuttin building ur head is everything just put some itr or b16 pistons on ur stock bottom and get a skunk 2 valvetrain on ur head with sk2 cams 12's all day

How high were you reving it until it broke?
 
not high at all bout 3-4 grand so don't know why they broke but they did but i never said anything about that i didn't already have itr camshafts in with the itr valves and i think i broke it off at the piston
 
please get rid of that LS/V and just get a gsr motor, the LS motors bottom end wasnt made for the high reving head of the vtec motors, i mean you could build it up ya sure no prob, but you could also get a gsr motor for around the same price as a ls/v and it would be MADE to support 8k rpms, unlike the ls/v motors
 
yea i had an ls vtec with b16 pistons and i was able to rev to 8500 it really depends on how u built your bottom end like he said ls bottoms are not meant for high rev but if u can build it properly it will last a while am currently putting ctrs in there along with a skunk 2 upper end stage 3 +3"s i had type r cams with b16 pistons and type r tranny and ran 13.1 am trying to get in the 12"s.. if u really want a better bottom end get a gsr bottom with an ls crank and get is sleeved and bored to about 85 or 86 with some wisco pistons and rods 12-5 with a skunk 2 head u can run low 12"S high 11"s all day
 
its all in the build......i have a b18a1 non-vtec all motor with only headwork with a stock bottom end and only arp rod bolts. i launch this sucker at 8,000 and it can take 8,500 with no problems. build it right and you will be ok. my project coming up in the next month will consist of integra type r pistons and a bigger cams......12's here i come all motor non-vtec !!! oh yeah this also comes with a 1.9 60ft no lsd
 
nice sounds like fun lol non vtec running 12 sweet am tryin to run 12"s with ls vtec type r pistons stage 3 skunk2 plus 3 cams type r tranny with lsd lol i hope i get in there dont see whu not
