Alright.

basically, i've got the car into the state where the CEL does not come on since i cleared the TPS code. i've driven ~1500 miles since then (after i reset the ECU) and it still reads "NOT READY" at the inspector. same results with BOTH ECU's... 97 and 00 1.5 5spd ECU.

I'm fighting MIL (malfunction indicator lamp )codes now :(

5 incomplete -

EGR
EVAP
o2 heater
o2 sensor
catalyst



im thinking i need to clean the EGR to clear that code...

obviously im running 1 cat, and 1 o2... with the simulator.

not sure why EVAP is failing.


put the sniffer on the car, it passes easily. any ideas that do not involve adding the 2nd cat or o2 sensor? i'm SICK of exhaust work.
 
I thought this car was perfect, will do everything at any time, and was totally worth $5000 for a 98 Mitsubishi ?

What happened? Are we talking about the same car ? Did the high wear off ?
 
the only reason it needs to pass is because the RMV is threatening to pull the registration.


the car is still awesome to drive day in and day out - and its a 2000.
 
Assachusetts. Heh, almost got failed for my safety inspection (no emissions) for altered ride height and altered exhaust. I told them my car wasn't lowered and that I passed last year with the same exhaust on it. They passed me.

They will only pull registration if you fail inspection and get a reject sticker.


They wont pull your registration if you do one of the following:

1.) Never get an inspection after registering a vehicle

or

2.) Never appear for an inspection when you are due (having passed inspection in a subsequent year).
 
yeah... i got a reject sticker from a year ago.



well, cops in MA can run your plates and see if your inspection is due...

i really have no choice.

what really fucks my mind is that travis... has an obd1 jdm motor in his obd2 tercel, gets a black R every 60 days... never gets pulled over nor any notice that his registration is getting pulled. his car has been on the road for 2 years now. guh!

the exhaust is no issue believe it or not - i told them it was off a stock evo 8.

Thats impossible.

In MA your registration is automatically void if you fail inspection during your re-test.
 
IF YOU CAPITALISE EVERY LETTER IT CHANGES IT TO ONLY THE FIRST LETTER CAPITAL.
