I am a huge fan of simplicity. If i were you, I would swap out the p/s rack for a non p/s rack and enjoy the extra sensitivity, weight reduction, and simplicity. As light as Honda's are, if you can't turn the wheel even on a p/s car that has been disabled, you are a pussy.

if you know how to do it, and you are going to need the room for an FMIC, do it. I just thought you were removing the parts and calling it a day.

if you have the rack from a non ps car, you will be fine. if you remove all the ps stuff from a ps car, it's annoying.

hmm, on a 5th gen radiator isnt there an inlet and an outlet for ps? where it flows through a seperate part but still in the radiator?

It takes at the most maybe 2 or 3 horsepower to turn the pump. Eliminate that, and you might get 1 or 2 HP to the wheels.

In my last DA I had removed the ps and I loved it. Check out The Generation 2 Integra Club: G2IC.COM 1990-1993 Model Honda/Acura Integra. Do a search for "power steering removal". There is a great writeup on how to prep your ps rack for non ps duty. According to the writeup if you do a little gutting of your ps rack, It makes for easier turning. Hope this helps,

You can remove the PS and vent all the lines such that it is honestly not a whole lot harder to turn the wheel than it is with PS. Don't just snip the belt and empty the containers, you can join two and vent one of the lines to the old container so that you're no longer pushing against air and the leftover PS fluid - it just flies up and away from the pressure, since the lines are no longer pressurized.

I'd remove it, if it's causing a problem. I prefer to race with no PS anyway.

i agree with Mr. Lemons.... if it is in the way, get rid of it. your car will have the handling characteristics of a manual steering car. 90crxfreak, the reason they called you a ricer is the statement about "freeing up horsepower by getting rid of the PS". that is the WORST misconception in the world. everyone knows that you free up more horsepower by adding vynils and taking off the alternator.
alternators are over-rated....

i would keep your power steering its no going to be that much more power. it you want to know how it feels i would just take of your power steering belt and drive it around. if you like it take it out if you dont just put the belt back on.
