got boost?
Hey, I have a few JDM B16As' sitting in my backyard, I was wondering if anyone could help me ID them. As most of you know, all JDM B16s have no number after the "A" to ID them. I have heard that B16As whose serial numbers start with 1 are from JDM EG Si's and ones starting with 5 are from integras. Does anyone know how to tell where these engines are from?

i mean does it say b16a or does it say b16a3 or what and on the head right above the exhaust is a number that will tell you what year

look right above the exhaust manifold.. there is a casting in the head that tells you what year it was made.. for example: mine says 9/2 meaning it was made in 92

I found (if you have the ecu), the number like P30 is in all part numbers for that ecu's vehicle. Therefore, you can tell what car the engine/ecu combo came from. ITRCA.com = Integra Type R Club of America! kind of made me think of that when I was trying to identify my jdm motor's origin. Since mine's a P30, it's a 94-95 Del Sol VTEC B16

Worked for me, but I might be wrong and that might be inconsistant

or you could do what i said here and know for free..

b16a doesnt mean shit.. they came in so many cars in Japan.. so you identify them by the casting in the head..
