is this the nail in the coffin of boxing?

hmmm.... its starting to get interesting.. first Pride fighters and UFC up against eachother, now professional boxers.. gotta see this if it happens

93% for sherk and 7% for mayweather with almost 5700 votes
interesting indeed

Dana White should hold a press conference and bring this out in the open. A failing world of boxing might force Mayweather to defend their name. And face it, a boxer in MMA would get owned. There's a reason why we haven't seen a pugilist in UF for over 10 years.

but still, I'd pay $100 to see this on PPV

edit: anyone see UFC 71 where that other lightweight challanged Mayweather to a fight? They need to jump on this.

“"I used to talk like Floyd Mayweather when I was involved in boxing. I talked just like him, until I educated myself about this sport. These guys are amazing athletes, Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever, (and) Sean Sherk will whoop his ass in under two minutes."

somebody needs to find the interview with Joe rogan and the president of boxing or some shit. it was some old white guy and joe roasted the guy. He said something like, "boxing is over, UFC is taking over everything. blah blah blah" and the guy didn't say shit. it was a great interview.

rampage did an interview on espn yesterday and it was great. he said, "UFC is taking over basketball, boxing, tennis, monster trucks, golf, swimming" all sorts of random shit. it was funny.

Jackson is the best mouthpiece in MMA
the shaquille o'neal of ufc. it's good to because most of the other guys just talk shit and have no personality. it think it's going to be at least a year before he loses.

at the espn interview he said he's going home to play video games and with the winnings buy a big truck and get it lifted with big wheels and tires. haha

Yahoo Sports said:
A few days before the fight, Jackson insisted he didn't care about having the belt around his waist. It was, he said, all about the money.

"Paper. Cheddar. That's it. First and last," Jackson insisted.

$450,000 is a nice chump of change for a fight he was supposed to lose. Liddell just went into the fight too cocky, plus it looked like Rampage studied his style and moves down to the T.

I don't think he's gonna lose anytime soon.

compairing boxing to mma isn't fair, other than fighting they are nothing alike. just because you can drive a car dosen't mean you can pilot a plane. mayweather would be ko'ed in the first round, but in the boxing ring I don't see a defeat for him in the near future.

YouTube - UFC vs. BOXING

also, i read some where that dana white took sherk to the mayweather-de la hoya fight and afterwards sherk asked mayweather for the fight and mayweather said that he was just joking and that he has a lot of respect for the UFC... he's nothing but a fucking loud mouth.

well Jackson lost to Wanderlei Silva who lost to Dan Henderson

it could be a short reign for mr Jackson
that's not a fair comparison because wanderlei lost to tito, wanderlei beat rampage, rampage beat chuck, chuck embarassed tito twice... it's more about style match ups than individual wins IMO.
